Just such a welcome find! Great parking, such a clean and comfortable bed in a fine room. Dining room is amazing and so well restored from an old abbey and the food was very good - even though my starter seemed to be lost! It was worth waiting for and wines very sound.

A unique Mercure - converted from a medieval priests' house - with ample parking on-site. The excellent restaurant is in the same building, but is a separate business; there was some confusion as to whether or not the restaurant bill had to be paid separately - check this out on arrival. Bourges itself has some places that are well-worth a...

We stayed here as part of a group of motorcyclists on our way through the region. Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and a park opposite. Plenty of on-site parking, although we parked our bikes right by reception as it was tipping down! Friendly staff and nice room. One issue was that the restaurant was closed on the day we stayed,...

We stayed here on our way back from our holiday in the South of France. Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds. Plenty of on site parking. Friendly staff and nice room. Our only gripe is that the restaurant was closed on the day we arrived, Monday. Hard to believe a hotel has no restaurant open for guests. Breakfast was excellent and...

Just like when we stayed here last year, the "Privilege" room in this hotel was disappointing. The seating area and furniture were all tired. The toilet was a huge surprise - streaks of limescale down the pan and in the bottom leaving an unpleasant colouring. (I am not saying it was dirty, but limescale is easy to remove and it...

We stayed on our way from South of France back to England. This is lovely hotel. with a very welcoming reception, all of whom speak English. We had a very nice room with plenty of space. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. What more could you want !!

Bourges, right in the centre of France, is worth a visit, particularly if you stay at Hotel de Bourbon. It's housed in an elegant old convent, beautifully converted and staffed by the most charming and helpful young people. Eat (very well!) in the attached restaurant in the semi-ruined and imaginatively reconstucted convent chapel. An overnight here is an experience in...

From previous reviews we knew that this hotel was regarded as rather shabby and tired and so our expectations were lower than say our very positive experience of the Accor Hotel in Chatres. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable (even if the quirky roof line made access difficult to some parts) but the bathroom was of a poor standard and...

Room sizes are typical for Europe, very clean and modern. Centrally located for easy access to places of interest by foot. The town is shut down on Sunday and Monday which happened to be my days off during this business trip. The hotel bar was open and had 2 tapas selections. Staff was very helpful and courteous, the hotel restaurant...

We arrived at this hotel after a 6 hour drive and were offered no assistance with our bags or finding our room. This is in contrast to every other hotel or guest house we have stayed in in France where the host has always offered assistance. The room is OK. But the worst part is that for a Mercure hotel,...
