We found this hotel thru Michelin guide where it's described somewhat optimistically as having Art Deco decorations. There are indeed modern attempts to reproduce the look but not enough to go out your way. Breakfast was a disaster with one poor woman servicing all the tables. Clearing our table with her hand she swept the crumbs onto the floor. Laying...

The location is fabulous! Almost across the street from the train station, but quiet and friendly. The rooms are older and a bit dated, but very comfortable with well kept beds and linens. The hotel staff is tremendously helpful and nice. I would stay again.

I had actually made a reservation with the hotel next door, Poemes, which is apparently run by the same people. I was told they'd double booked my room so the gave me a free upgrade on the other side. What a gorgeous, large room! Chartres was my destination so I stayed three days, and the staff were friendly enough to...

Wonderful hotel, lovely to have gotten upgraded into a view over the station. Staff very nice, professional and discreet. Breakfast was also very nice. Only little drawback is the lack of F and B outlets but overall lovely lovely property.Would happily return to this hotel.

Thought we'd try something different as we travelled home. There were positives, staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. However, the room was chilly and the shower weak. Its back to the grand monarque next time.

We visited the spectacular festival of light in Chartres. We stayed at this hotel on our way down to the south west. Of France and enjoyed it so much we returned for a second night on the way back. We chose a higher quality room for our second stay, much more spacious and worth the extra cost. Breakfasts were great,...

My review of this hotel is really only based on my experience in reception whilst collecting keys for a rooms for an apartment the hotel also rents out. My opinion is this, although this hotel from the outside looks 4* and inviting on the inside it more akin to a swan swimming in the river on the surface calm and...

The hotel is rather well situated in the heart of Chartres. The staff were helpful, if a little over worked. Very nice clean and tidy room with plenty of space. Service at the bar in the evening was slow and the breakfast in the morning is reasonably priced but you get what you pay for. If you have time then...

Having spent the previous night on a plane from the States, our arrival in Chartres was blessed by staying at the Hotel Jehan de Beauce. The room was small but the bathroom was heaven. I must say the linens and towels were the loveliest I have had in France or Italy. The staff was generous, and the glass of wine...
