Home friendly, clean and quiet rooms, well equipped. decent breakfast. Check the TV connections. Free garage for bicycles in the courtyard. Detail may be important stages are high (stairs). In the eastern part of the old town, near the Cathedral and the Museum of Fine Arts. A five mintes walk from the modern city center.

Reasonable price, clean room. Location was wonderful and tons of parking right in front of the hotel. Lots of different restaurants, all by walking distance. Also walking distance to Cathedrale St. Gatien. Did not try the hotel breakfast, so could not judge.

This hotel is perfectly placed for the restaurant street in Tours and for visits to the nearby cathedral etc, but beware in summer. We arrived in Tours in a heatwave of 34C and it was absolutely airless. The room itself (a triple on the 2nd floor) was basic and clean but we had to ask for a fan and had...

After our trailer had some issues the recovery people booked us in to this hotel. We had 2 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs - all of which were very comfortable in the hotel. The owner and family were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. They arranged parking in their garage which was charged at €8 but well worth it for...

The Hotel du Cygnet has a lot going for it - a central location, very friendly and helpful owners, and reasonable prices. As against that, our room was small and sparsely furnished - inadequate wardrobe space, nowhere to put our cases, only one accessible power point. There is wifi, but it's rather slow. If all you are looking for is...

This hotel could really do with a refurb - so much of it looks very tired. However the bathroom we had was really clean and the shower power was excellent. It was a shame that the towels, though clean, had seen several years service! The bedroom looked tired though the bed was reasonably comfortable. Nice rooftop views from our attic room...

This hotel should not have stars, this is a mis representation. It does not in reality look like the pictures online or in the brochure. It does not have car parking as advertised, it is a run down seedy place of questionable cleanliness. We refused to stay there and were forced to pay for the booking as we were under...

Ok, plus points first. Located in the centre of Tours, situated in the middle (ish) of a small quiet street, lovely family run hotel (very helpful), basic but clean, a cracking shower and comfortable beds. Now for the minus, no air conditioning which is essential as a) Tours is hot, damn hot and b) as it is close to the...

I was a bit apprehensive about choosing Hotel du Cygne, after reading a few reviews on tripadvisor. I was visiting Tours, France for a conference, and I was on a tight budget. This was an official trip, and by the time I had the official approval, rooms were filling up quite fast. I was lucky to get the budget last...

Tours is an unpretentious little city with a fine cathedral and the best place to stay if visting chateaux by public transport. However this hotel is a disappointment - the Asian owners are unfriendly and the breakfast for 7 euros is just acceptable with the coffee served in a open jug so it is soon cold. Street noise is a...
