Paris is extremely beautiful! This hotel is in central location to Eiffel tower. Everything is walking distance to restaurants, shopping areas, trains, etc. The rooms are small but cozy and very well decorated. The only thing I did not like was that after a long flight our rooms were not ready, but we did arrive to the hotel extremely early before check-in time. However, they did take our bags and we were offered to change downstairs. Also, I did complain about our view of the tower to the man at the front desk, his response: “Stick your head through the window and there is tower” Lol Would I stay here again, not sure as the location of this hotel was ideal. The rooms were not bad as well. Also depending on what room, you get, you can see the tower more clearly. (We stayed here February 2020)…
We visited back in November 2018 and it was a fantastic stay. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodations were comfortable. Not too fussy...exactly what we needed with views of the Eiffel Tower and access to wonderful restaurants and little markets.
I stayed in two rooms. Room 506 - has a balcony that wrapped around the hotel and had 3 ways to get on the balcony (2 in the room and one in the bathroom). This had a direct view of the Eiffel Tower. The second room was 503 - a side view balcony. Both rooms were so clean and perfect!
You are paying for a premium price hotel because some rooms have a balcony with a view on it. But you cannot even guarantee yourself a balcony even if you book it in advance or pay any extra. So then your left with a very small room and if you want a selfie with the Eiffel Tower you would have to stick half your body out of the window. If you want to celebrate somthing special I would advise to pay a little extra and stay at the Pullman hotel which you can book and be sure to have a balcony room with even better views as its a stone throws away from the Eiffel tower. It also has a more spacious balcony area. I had a room booked here at Hotel La Comtesse with a balcony and it did not say anywhere when I booked that it was subject to availability. I even showed the front desk on my ipad if I was to book a room for next week with a balcony will it say anywhere on the page that it cannot be guaranteed before I click confirm and it did not. So only after you have clicked confirm will they mention this. And by clicking confirm it is non refundable. They are using sneaky wording and deliberately trying to mislead customers, the front desk kept saying to me you can reserve a balcony but if you arrive and there is none available then you will not get one. So in other words their meaning of reservation means nothing and balcony rooms are on a first come first serve basis. Read some of the other negative reviews and others have had similar problems.…
I booked a room with an Eiffel Tower view and balcony, and I paid in full at the time of booking. La Comtesse canceled my reservation (understandably) after they closed due to Covid-19. They refused to refund my money. I had reservations at three other boutique hotels during my France vacation, and all three refunded my money in full after they were forced to cancel. They did "offer" to rebook me in a room (without the balcony I paid for) in August. I asked to get a copy of their booking policies in writing four times and was denied. Disappointing, unethical, poor customer service. Please don't stay here!
