This is what a Parisian hotel should be. Compact but well modernised room, nice flat screen TV (but all the shows are in French!) and free wifi, which should be the same in all hjotels around the world. Ours had a new bathroom and windows that opened to the village atmosphere of Paris, resplendent with the sounds and smells of...

The 4 of us stayed in seperate rooms beside eachother. Mine had a huge bathroom, but the other bathroom was quite small. Both had a flat screen TV and free wifi. The biggest problem was the street noise. Though this is a very hip neighbourhood and I liked the location. Apparently there are some pretty sleezy joints nearby, but they...

Hotel is in a good location, 15 minute metro ride to the centre of Paris and so very easy to get to and from. The road outside can be quite noisy however windows were double glazed and I brought ear plugs. The room was very hot and with the noise from outside we had to have the windows closed. No...

Hotel Audran is right in the middle of the nice part of Montmartre close to the Sacre Coeur, as opposed to further down the hill by the red light district. It is also close to the Abbesse metro station, restaurants, traiteurs, supermarkets, etc. The room was pretty clean and comfy, and the staff were very helpful. It was just as...

Located in a side street but only slightly off the main Montmatre hubbub of cafes and bars around 40 minutes walk from The Opera House in central Paris or 15 minute taxi ride (15euros max). Well kept pension type hotel offering breakfast (if required on site) or sit almost outside and watch the world go by from the quaint cafes....

1. They require you to pay up front. 2. Wifi connection was slow and u need to get a new password every day as well as a different password for each device. 3. The room smelled like smoke and I think it was coming from inside the hotel. 4. Very loud outside until about 1:30 am. 5. I might be...

We really liked this place. It was simple but convenient. The room was small, but good enough for us. It's Paris! The bathroom was large. Free wifi, nice people and a great location. It's a wonderful neighbourhood to walk around in the evening and have a meal or a drink. OK, it is noisy outside, but not disturbing. You here...

This is a simple little budget hotel with a tiny lift, no real lobby and a small staff. Our room (#37?) had a bed, a cramped bathroom, a closet and that's about it. The highlight was the two giant windows that opened out onto Rue des Abbesses, the main drag that runs through Montmartre. I could have spent all day...

Fun area of the city! There were plenty of restaurants, bars and shops surrounding the hotel and we definitely didn't run out of things to keep us busy. The hotel staff was very nice and spoke English enough to help us plan some activities and point us in the right direction. The room was very clean and the hot water...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

“Perhaps phone the hotel for the price before booking through Trip Advisor, Booking.com etc. I stayed an extra night but was charged 66% of the room price compared to my initial 2 night booking. It made me think that online bookings don't actually get you the best price.”
