I booked via Booking;com and got a very good price. Then I read the reviews and started having misgivings. In the end, I can say this hotel is in one of the cutest areas of paris, and it is quite good ( you just need to close the window not to hear the vagrants quarreling in the local square).

Small hotel with small sized comfortable rooms but this is typical of Paris. If you book last minute (within a week) you may get good deals (whether direct with hotel or via booking.com for example). Great location next to Montparnasse metro, with a nice local market on Saturdays and great crepe restaurants around. Considering the price is lower than your... More

Location is fantastic - right opposite Edgar Quinet station in the heart of Montparnasse. Double room was small, such that it was good that I glad I was the only one staying there. But room was comfortable, wifi was good and front desk staff were helpful.

All I wanted was to have a nice holiday in Paris, and everything could have been great, but the management of this hotel have completely ruined it. Such rude behaviour, such disrespect and lack of consideration for the guests I haven't seen anywhere in the world, and I have traveled in quite a few countries and stayed in numerouse hotels... My boyfriend and I (ages 20 and 22) stayed here for four nights on our vacation to Paris. We got a really good deal and couldn't have been happier with our stay! The staff was very friendly and the room was very basic, but for the price we got it was expected. Since we were in Paris with so much... More

Hotel is in a great location, a short walk to Montparnasse station, lots of cafes and street life. BUT, no air-con, no fan, so in summer there is a choice between slowly baking with windows closed, or no sleep due to late night street noise. And I mean LATE! While the room was a tiny box, it was not cheap,... More

The staff was nice. The room was "OK" (small but expected for Paris at this price; the bathroom sink and shower sucked though). The room was clean but again, the bathroom could have used a scrub. The location is very nice. Metro is a 2 minute walk and lots of restaurants around. The sum total was a good deal and... More

Don't think that price determines quality. 130 euro gets you a bed . Clean but basic. I only booked this as it was a late booking and I needed to get the train from montparnase next day. You have to use the local cafes for food which ain't a bad thing.

I have visited this hotel with 2 of my friends and we stayed only one night. Everything was okay but the directors attitude. I didn't appreciate the way he addressed me. If we are young it doesn't mean we are alcoholic addict and it doesn't mean we are going to scream the whole night and wake everybody up. Instead of... More

I booked a twin room on line and the first message I received was that the credit card does not work. This was 3 days before I was to check in. There is only a double bed if I want. This was the first hurdle at the hotel. Upon check in the room was absolutely small for 2 persons .The... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
