Amazing hotel, especially the Staff are extremely helpful and kind. The breakfast is expensive, but delicious. Great location, very close to Central Park as well as where Fifth avenue's shopping area starts. This means that its possible to do not few things by foot, which is definitely not a given in NYC.
Wanted to have a brunch with my family , between Christmas and New Year .. true I did not book since it was a last minute decision. However , the sheer arrogance of the staff who I may say ‘ un-welcomed ‘ us was beyond any expectation . He said :’ you are not hotel guests and you don’t have a booking ‘ we are full . I understand that , but politeness is not likely going to cost him much . It should be inherent . We left , and guess what ; we headed to the Georges V - Four Season and had the most memorable experience enjoying Salon Champagne just before the start of the new year ....
Located in the heart of the fashion center of Paris on Avenue Montaigne, this hotel gives you an ideal location as well as all the creature comforts you need. The staff is warm, welcoming and truly accommodating. If your budget can stand it, this hotel will make your Paris stay outstanding.
We visited the Plaza Athénée on Sunday 22nd December for their “Musical Brunch”. The experience was subpar to what we are used to at the Plaza Athénée. The carpet under our seats and table was littered in breadcrumbs, our tablecloth was in really bad shape and there was cutlery missing. The staff was really inattentive. We had to ask for simple things, such as bread and coffee. The food was delicious. The dish presentation was aesthetically pleasing. Everything was flavoursome. We did have to send back my octopus because my plate only had two tiny pieces while my husband’s dish had a copious amount. The staff apologized and admitted there was a mishap with my plate. There was a live duo of musicians. They were great and we really enjoyed the tunes they sang! It’s a shame that we left a little disappointed. Perhaps it was because we visited just before Christmas and therefore the room was at maximum capacity and the staff was a little overwhelmed. It was a little chaotic. I do think that the staff could have done a better job at managing the flow. …
I went there to see the Christmas decorations and have my regular coffee and dinner when in Paris. I always go to Plaza Athénée. But this time, I really hate the service. The person who attended us in the bar, she didn’t smile at any time, and it seems she was doing us a favor. And when the coffees came, it seems like she just threw away the cups, and we have to ask for napkings, because they forgot. Cocky is the right term for the person. And then when we left, the door man look at my friend like he was doing something wrong. I was amazed with this kind of behavior, in a 5 star hotel, that is one of the best in Paris... or it was. But they gave me something to think about: looking for hotels where I have a great service, without looking at us as people who would do something wrong.…
