My partner had not been to Europe before and was amazed at Paris and relaxed by this quiet, pleasant hotel near to St Germain de Pres....perfect for the couple in love in Paris

We stayed two nights at Hotel Chaplain on our recent tour of France. The room was impecably clean and fresh. It's a tiny room but so are all of the others where we stayed in France. I'm sure you could pay more - - much more - - somewhere in Paris to get a larger room, but this one was...

Nice room in a great neighbourhood. The service was very good and the reception area both beautiful and welcoming, with the complimentary tea in beautiful cups adding that extra touch. The bathroom was beautiful, although a shower curtain would have been nice to prevent the whole floor of the bathroom getting wet while showering. The free minibar in the room...

Hello, we recently spent short weekend in this hotel. The staff were very friendly, with nice acceuil. Rooms are very tastefully decorated, relatively spacious, with excellent new bath and shower facilities (a real pleasure). Lots of small details (small present in the rooms, coffee machine in the reception, free minibar, access to internet). Spotlessly clean. The location is perfect --...

Really nice staff and nicely decorated clean rooms and bathrooms with necessary accessories, which is not necessarily standard in Paris (unfortunately). About 15 minutes walk to the Notre Dame. The rooms are small, but content everything necessary for two people. The only arrow down is the sound level - the wall are rather thin, so you can follow your neighbors...

I stayed last February in the hotel Chaplain and I had a great time. You received a first class service and the rooms are cozy. If you are looking a hotel in the center of Paris this is it!

A really nice hotel and lovely staff. The room I stayed in wasn't nice, it's right next to reception and because the walls are thin, you can hear people going up and down the stairs all night. If you decide to stay here, don't take the 'classic' option.

This was our second hotel during our stay in paris. Before that we stayed in the 3* hotel near Etoile-Arc du Triumph and without any doubt we liked Hotel Chaplain much more than the first one both as regards the hotel itself and the location. We stayed for two nights in March. Everything was very good, rooms a bit small...

If you are looking for a hotel with great value and excellent location-this is the one. Just 2 blocks from the metro and on a quiet side street. Room service in the evenings is the only thing that I would change to improve.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
