The Hotel Beaumarchais is ideally situated in the heart of Paris. It lies between the historic neighborhood of the Marais with its museums, and the typically Parisian atmosphere of bars and restaurants of Rue Oberkampf. You will be welcomed by a warm atmosphere where the contemporary setting harkens of a distinctly southern style. A flowery patio welcomes you for breakfast. The 31 rooms feel fresh and gay.

Staff friendly and helpful. Location great. Breakfast good. Major complaint was bathroom in our room. Toilet stuck in an alcove which was so small you couldn’t bend your elbows. Shower was a complete fiasco and major safety hazard. The tub slopes downward so that at the bottom it’s less than a foot wide, meaning you have to stand sideways. In addition, the tub is very slippery and is without grab bars. It would’ve been much safer if there were rubber mats for the tub bottom. For this reason, I would never stay here again.

The hotel has friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. There is a small elevator to help with getting to the upper floors. I had booked a single room. It was small but comfortable for a 4 night stay. Unfortunately it was next to the lift ( ask not to be next to the lift). I had the breakfast and it was good for the price. The location is a definite advantage, close to Gard du nord and the metro stations. Lots of great dining and cafes.

You can't fault the location and staff at this hotel. However the room pictures for a double mainly show two windows, a table or dressing area and a few nice decorative touches. We had a comfy bed which you could only get to the one side by squeezing past a beam, extremely basic and scruffy decor a tiny wardrobe and few drawers. We still enjoyed Paris.

We ended up paying quite a high price and we had higher expectations than what we received. The service was quite acceptable and the location was good. We have stayed in 8 different hotels in a Paris and this was on the small end for the rooms and the carpets and rooms are getting dated and worn. The lobby and dining areas are good. Overall, just ok.
