The staff were extremely helpful - the well-furnished rooms and lobby were definitely appreciated! We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine for our room and enjoyed their complimentary happy hours each evening (just a little table with wine / snacks in the lobby but it was nice!) Great value and very well situated - close to a metro...

Great value. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. Service was excellent. Clean and well decorated rooms. Great location near a metro station. If you are going to Paris on holiday, I would definately recommend the Paris museum pass. It is about break even on cost, but it gets you to the front of the line....

We stayed 8 nights at this hotel. The room was clean, cosy, quiet, confortable and well organized (not big but not even too small). Receptionists were friendly and helpful. It is located in a safe and quiet area, with many brasseries and cafè. Just outside Duroc Metro station you can find a very good boulangerie where you can have breakfast...

The Aviatic Hotel is in a great location in Paris; the area around Saint Germain is vibrant, interesting and within easy access of all the main attractions. The hotel itself is positioned on a quiet section of the Rue de Vaugirard and our room, number 141 at the back of the hotel , was very quiet. The room was beautifully...

We stayed here during August 2011. Great location - very close to the metro and 10 mins by train to get everywhere. Lovely cafes/restaurants on the doorstep and although we didn't visit it and huge shopping centre two minutes walk away. The hotel was chic and had a very boutique feel - lovely decoration and good staff who were always...

Polite, friendly staff, lovely room. Smallish room, but pleasant and clean, perfect for a couple for a few days. Would stay again, very good value for money, been in more expensive places for not nearly as nice a stay. Area is near lots of restaurants and metro, walking distance for most attractions.

This was our second stay at the Aviatic, and if anything had changed other than the staff, we couldn't tell. The room was spotless, the service was excellent, the staff was knowledgeable and helpful (and fluent in English), and the location was within walking distance of many attractions and two different Metro stations. The rooms are small, with a chair...

I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It is well maintained, very clean and the staff were helpful. There was the added bonus of free wifi too. The staff were bi-lingual and spoke English which was very helpful considering my awful French. The room was nicely decorated and reasonably sized for a major city. The bathroom was lovely and clean. The...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between Saint Germain des Pres and Montparnasse, the Hotel LOUISON is a chic hotel in the centre of Paris. With nineteenth century furniture, cherry and chestnut tones on the walls, marble floors and a courtyard garden, the Aviatic captures the spirit of the Left Bank in every detail. The hotel was constructed in 1856 to welcome the painters, sculptors and writers who would go on to put the Latin quarter at the very heart of European culture. This cultural heritage is present even in the bedrooms. Tastefully decorated, they generate a feeling of calm and a sensual ambiance. The charming, multilingual staff are always available to provide you with help and advice. They will be happy to offer local insight on art galleries, museums and the area's famous pavement cafes. ... more   less
