Hotel location is very central, convenient by the underground station. Staff is very friendly. Room size is standard for Paris. Design of the hotel is awesome, really liked it. Being a eco friendly/modern/hipster property I would expect some consistency with breakfast selection. It was not what would one in such a hotel expect and was a great disappointment for me....

Hello Jinji H, Thank you very much for your nice comment ! We are happy that you had a great experience at the Basss Hotel. I am just sad that the breakfast was not matching your expectations... particularly the pastries. I am quite surprised as they are made with whole-butter and baked every day. They are still hot if you...

Stayed at the Basss for a few days in October and had a wonderful time. The hotel is ideally located in Monmatre, set among plenty of bars and restaurants and within walking distance of Sacre Coeur. Ok, so the room is small but, in my experience, this is a common feature in Paris unless you book a suite in the...

Dear travellingtim51, We thank you for your comment and we are glad to read that you have spent a wonderful time with us! Actually, the location of the hotel is a strong advantage as you have said because of all the shops, restaurants, that you can find in the area. The whole team is really attentive on the wellness of...

Rooms are so so small. Bathroom is even smaller. No room to move. No fridge, no spare pillows, air con non functional. Got stuck in the lift for 20 minutes until technician arrived. He let us out but nobody in the hotel said anything to us after we were out. Not even a note left in our room. Nothing. They...

Hello Jörn-Malte L, Thank you very much for your compliments towards the hotel and the location. For your information Jörn-Malte L, the majority of bathrooms have been renovated 2 years ago, when the whole hotel has been renewed. You may had an older one... Five other bathrooms (of the family rooms) are currently in renovation, so there are good chances...

Yes the room was very small, but clean and looking in on an inner courtyard so quiet. I actually enjoyed the activity of the breakfast area in the morning and we always had a table. It was cozy though! And yes the bathroom was very tight. All this was worth it to be on Rue Des Abbesses and in this...

Dear icookdvm, Thank you very much for your very nice feedback : we are glad that you had a very nice time ! The neighborhood is indeed extraordinay, what makes the location of the hotel a big spot for shopping, trendy time out in delightful restaurants and bars, and to visit Paris. Actually 2 metro stations are accessible with 4...

I booked a double room for 2 nights. The room is just big enough for a double bed. The toilet is extremely crammed, your knee will be right next to the wall when you are sitting down on the toilet seat and the shower cubicle is just big enough for a slim person. It is clean and tidy but not...

We spent three nights in this hotel, which we chose based on location and it's excellent TripAdvisor rating. While travelling to your room, you're well advised to hold your nose to avoid the pervasive smell of dirty nappies. The room itself seemed tiny, owing to the dark blue paint, but was actually smaller, once you hung your clothes on the...

Dear Cheap&Cheerful, You seem upset by your stay especially because of your room. I am very sad for you as rooms have all been renovated and are normally well designed to offer you the proper comfort. Well, you are very true on the point that the surface of rooms is small in certain ones. Also, as you read the comments...

I have read the other reviews that emphasise the small rooms, small bathrooms and lack of some amenities. We had stayed at another Happy Culture hotel in Paris earlier in the same trip (Hotel de Neuve) and had a decent experience. This is a nice hotel in a great location. The staff are helpful and friendly. Sadly, the corners cut by limiting staff and the quality of furnishings did not go unnoticed by us. Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
