I stayed here for 1 night at Euro 86 which was already considered cheap in Paris, not to say its excellent location, some steps away from the metro staton, shopping mall La Fayette and Opera House. I particularly chose this area as I could walk back to hotel alone quickly and safely after watching the opera at late night. I... More

I stayed in the Excelsior for one night as the usual hotels nearby were full and to be honest, if anyone found this hotel 'nice' they have some serious standard issues. Upon arrival I was greeted by the night staff guy called Abdal, an excentric chap who would randomly break into two verse song (no I'm not kidding) whilst checking... More

Just returned from 2 night stay at this hotel. I arrived at 12 noon and had to wait 2 hours before I could check-in The hotel is in a decent location and has an excellent link to CDG airport via the roissybus. I stayed in a standard single and it was very clean which is very important, however my room... More

We had booked a room at another hotel in Paris, and on arriving found out that it was in a horrible area of town and cancelled our stay as soon as we got there. Then we went to the Office of Tourism and they found us a room at the Excelsior. The location was perfect, within walking distance of plenty... More

This hotel's location is the last word in convenience being almost on top of a metro station (Chausee d'Antin La Fayette) and close to the Auber RER station. It's about two minutes walk from the Roissy bus stop that connects to Paris CDG airport - very handy when you arrive or depart laden with luggage. It's also on top of... More

After having my reservations mixed up by Grand Leveque 10 days prior to my trip, I had to scramble and luckily ended up with reservations at the Excelsior. The place is very central - right on the corner of Haussman and Lafayette and just around the corner from Galeries Lafayette, so it's extremely busy and traffic almost all night. That's... More

We stayed at the Excelsior Easter Sunday weekend. The hotel is very clean and the staff were friendly and professional. The desk clerks are friendly and speak english. The room was small for the $$ and the decor outdated but that did not distract from the charm. My only complaints are first, the location of our room faced a side... More

This hotel is in a great location! One is able to walk to many common tourist locations such as Le Madeleine, the Opera Garnier, Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome, and others. There are also several metro stops close to the hotel. As usual in most European cities, the rooms are small. But here you will find them very clean... More

Stayed in a double room for 2 nights in November. The room was large by Paris standards, bathroom had bath with shower over, was a reasonable size. Breakfast was included in the price.Staff were very nice and helpful, and I found the location great for shopping -only a few yards from Galleries Lafayette and Printemps etc. Would stay there again,... Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
