We travel around Europe quite a bit so are used to small room, nut our 5th floor room at the Apollinaire was very cosy even by Parisian standards. The bathroom also had a bit of mould - but apart from that it was very clean, and we couldn't hear anyone in other rooms. We paid 90euros for one night as...

Another tiny lift. The room and bed were small. The bathroom was okay and reasonably clean. The breakfast room was bright and pleasant, but the fare on offer only average. It is indeed well situated for the gare Montparnasse and does have a huge selection of restaurants and cafes in the area. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I picked this hotel based on the other reviews and I was not disappointed. The rooms are of course Paris-small but they were clean and despite having a street-side room quiet as well. A/C is a big plus in this location and price range and it was much appreciated. Location could not have been better with a metro stop at...

Stayed here for 4 nights in May. Nice single room, not large but was perfect for my stay. My room opened out on to the street so there was a bit of street noise, mainly in the mornings. but nothing that woke me up or kept me awake, but if you're a light sleeper you might ask for a inside...

This hotel is near Metro stations, restaurants, small shops, etc. The small street where its located can be a little noisy at night, depending on where your room faces. There's free wifi access, with good reception in the room. It has a small breakfast room, but for the cost you are better off getting something at the Patisserie a few...

This is a decent, comfortable three star city hotel, very typical of France. Our modest double room with shower was absolutely fine though I am continuing my campaign for more hotels to have BBC on the tv. Staff helpful. Breakfast much as usual. Pleasant lounge - we brought in some wine and snacks. Location is also very French - there...

I can't really say anything that hasn't been said before. Nice room with space to move around, decent bathroom with tub and shower - would benefit from a shower curtain, EXCELLENT location in terms of busses and metro and close to nice brasseries, cafes etc.

Stayed 3 nights in mid-September. Close to all transportation modalities that can get you around the entire town without having to resort to a taxi or car. Pleasant and accommodating staff. Decent, continental style breakfast. Rooms are small, but clean and well-maintained. Although all european hotels have non-smoking rooms, smoke wafts in from outside and other rooms. Bathroom had a...

This was a good value hotel in the heart of the lively Montparnasse quartier. It is near the station, easy to find and handy for restaurants in the nearby theatre district. The hotel is clean and comfortable with pleasant staff. We had breakfast in a local resto so can't comment on that.

This was a wonderful find. One block from the metro. Many cafes, shops and restaurants. Room was immaculate but very tiny - of course, the price was reasonable as well. The desk was very helpful with directions and excellent restaurant recommendations (also very reasonable and delicious). A real winner.

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

“Most rooms seemed to have elevator access, but not room 10, which we needed for its three beds. Stairs were tolerable.”

“I think you need to ask for a larger room, away from the street noise. But I am sure it will cost more.”

“If you get to your room and realise it is right next to the elevator possibly go back to reception and get another room. I talked to the people in this kind of room and they were saying it was not so great :( I think there are 5 floors of rooms and just 1 room on each floor is directly next top the elevator.”

“Get a room that faces the street as this will allow you to see the local life.”
of 5 bubbles Keec, 2 Aug 2014 | Read review
“Higher floors have slightly less street noise. The little lift is rather noisy opening and closing. I had two rooms on the street side and I sleep lightly but as the windows are double glazed noise wasn't a problem at all.”
