This hotel is situated in the lovely left bank and is close to a couple of metro stations. It is down a quiet part of the Rue Des Ecoles but Odeon, Pantheon and Notre Dame are well within walking distance. It has a smart reception but the room wasn't of the same standard. It was small and the decor was...

I stayed at theis hotel for my birthday and it was very lovely! The staff knew what they were doing and it's handy for metros-Cardinal Lemoine and Jussieu stations. It's very tasteful and smokefree if you stay on one of the non-smoking floors (unusual in Paris) and the rooms are better sized than usual for it too. Even our bathroom...

My husband, son and daughter stayed here for 7 nights in September in 2 rooms on the sixth floor. Our room had the amazing view of Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame and a lovely view of a Parisien street. The bathroom was huge (almost bigger than the bedroom) with another balcony. There is no wardrobe space, except for a hanging...

Arrived at this hotel at 12:30 a.m. after a 2 hr drive from CDG. The only positive thing about this hotel was Olivier, the night clerk, who was very friendly and kind. The hotel was fully booked so I was given the worst room in the hotel, room 001 on the street level. Open the curtains and there are the...

I stayed here for two nights (late Nov 06) and was suitably impressed by the hotel. The rooms aren't the biggest but are well appointed and were spotless. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom is a good size, with some nice free toiletries and a decent power shower. Breakfast was OK with pastries, bread, meats/cheese, cereal and fruit juice. Although...

possibly even nicer compared to many other in Paris but... We stayed in room 302 which was pretty small - no where to put our luggage, which is a slight problem when you come to Paris for 6 days. Rooms cleaned daily to a good standard (although some of the decor looked slightly on the tatty side for a recently...

me and my boyfriend just HAD (doesn't matter how tacky can this sound) to go to Paris for my birthday. we're portuguese, so unfortunately our salaries aren't comparable to frech lifestyle. anyway, we decided to go crazy and booked with our internet travel agent one of the cheaper (not cheap) packages available (flight, hotel and breakfast). we asked around to...

After staying in a tiny unventilated room on my previous trip to Paris, this place was like staying at "the ritz". It was clean, comfortable and the room was of good size (which is hard to find in Paris). The AC worked great and the bathroom was huge with a full size tub. The decor is bright and airy and...

We stayed here for one night after I saw the writeup in Fodor's 2006. The location is decent (we love the Latin Quarter) and the room was spacious (#301). The guy at the desk was so helpful--he went above and beyond courteous. The breakfast was nice, and you can even get it delivered to your room, no extra charge. The...

The Quartier Latin (it is not part of Libertel anymore) is a great choice if you want to stay at the Latin Quartier (even not in the middle of it). The rooms (as most in Paris) are small, but with a lot of light and nice decoration (see photos). The lobby is great and the breakfast varied enough and filling....

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
