As all the previous reviews have said, the hotel is in an excellent location; really had to beat in the centre of the Latin Quarter close to both Bvd St Germain, and Bvd St Michel and very close to the metro, (Line 4 that runs to Gare du Nord (handy for the Eurostar) is about 6mins walk away). The hotel...

Dear Sir, Thank you very much for this review, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay in Paris. Our hotel owns the Ecolabel since 2008 (low environmental impact + high quality of service), and some criteria don't allowed to provid single use toiletries and products: that why our bathrooms provid liquid soap and shampoo/shower gel in dispensers. Of course,...

Stayed at this hotel May 2012. The hotel is in a great location, near Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, Ile De St Louis, and many other Latin Quarter sites. The area is fun and interesting and has many restaurants and shops. The rooms at the hotel are very small. We had a "superior" room which was tiny. The...

First off, the hotel room is actually very well situated in the Latin Quarter. A short walk to Notre Dame and the metro. Very close to many good restaurants. Also, the rooms were newly updated and felt clean. Onto the not so good - when we were there in Feb 2012, the hotel was still under renovations. So the back...

I just want to say that the staff at Jardin de Cluny is top-notch. They gave us excellent recommendations for food and good directions to some local sights. They always offered to help in any way they could, including helping up get a shuttle to the airport. There was one young woman , I think her name was Karina, and...

We had a 24 hour layover in Paris and booked this place upon a friend's advice and were very satisfied. The location is perfect, a brisk walk from the Metro station which deserves the airport line. We were able to check in earlier which was much appreciated coming off a long haul flight. The rooms were clean, the bathroom small...

We recently spent 6 nights in Paris at the Best Western Jardin de Cluny. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and had no problem speaking to us in English and helping a little with some French if asked. They gave us very good advice to improve our visit. This very cute, clean, modern, little boutique hotel was in the perfect...

Though a Best Western, the Le Jardin de Cluny presents itself as a small boutique hotel. We were impressed from the moment we stepped inside. The friendly, English speaking front desk staff were extremely helpful as we asked questions about their city. We were fortunate to be upgraded to room 501 and recommend anyone staying at the Cluny to request...

I couldn't believe I was going to Paris and staying at a Best Western, but I love the location and the reviews were good, so I did, and I was not disappointed. The service was wonderful from the get go. We were welcomed by Andre and he helped us with various things along the way. Our superior room was small,...

This hotel was such a great choice for our base in Paris. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcomed. Andrea checked us in and she was wonderful. She gave us a map, circled all sorts of great museums and sites that were in walking distance (there are a lot!) and got us in a room right away. We...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
