This was a very nice hotel in a great location, 2 blocks from the St Michel Metro/RER station and a block off Blvd St. Germain, one block from the Cluny Museum, 2 blocks from the Sorbonne. Rooms were small Eurpoean style but we looked over Rue St. Jacques and with new door heard little of the street noise. Nice closet....

Stayed here for a long weekend in Paris in December. Given the price we got for this place we weren't expecting much. The location of this hotel is absolutely outstanding being right in the center of Saint Germain with shopping, restaurants, metro, and pretty much anything you could ask for right around the corner or within easy walking distance. The...

This modestly-priced hotel is well situated in the heart of Paris. We stayed there for six nights, within easy walking distance of Notre Dame and many *touristy* site in the Latin Quarter. You can't beat the location/price -- trust me, I tried. The rooms were always warm and very clean -- it looked recently remodeled. Complementary Wi-Fi was very fast...

La tour notre dame is very nice and cozy hotel located in the middle f the universities and pubs area of Paris. A few minutes from rue moufetard, the dancing street, and a few meters from saint germain and Quartier des arts, this best western is exactly what you need. Go out of the hotel, and jump directly in the...

My mom and I spent three nights here at the end of Nov, and neither of us speak a word of French and knew nothing about getting around Paris. The people at the desk were very friendly and helpful, especially Charles. On our last night, we were in a bind having trouble getting Euros to pay our taxi driver for...

Just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. Upon arrival we were checked in quickly, with minimal fuss. The reception staff were very helpful with directions and reccomendations on where to eat. Our room was small but perfectly adequate and clean with a modern feel. Breakfast was of a continental nature and was sufficicent for a days sightseeing ahead....

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was clean and nicely presented throughout; given the price of some other hotels we had looked at, we felt this offered us good value for money without compromising on location. The rooms are small but have everything you need for a sound base to explore the city. Having said that, if you're...

This hotel was a great find. The room was not large by NA standards but was comfortable enough. The bathroom was clean & useable. The front staff / desk managers were extremely helpful (we found ourselves in the middle of France’s national strikes and they offered valuable info regarding revising our travel plans). The hotel was located in a perfect...

Stayed for 3 nights on a romantic break. Great location and very easy to get to from C G Airport. 3 minutes from train station. Check in was quick with helpful staff. The rooms were not big and the bathroom was compact, this is what you would expect in the centre of Paris. We had a room that looked out...

The room is SMALL, as noted by everyone. But there is small, and there is REALLY small. This hotel has rooms that are the latter. Hard to get the luggage in the room, and let me tell you about the bathroom...there is about three inches between the toilet and the tub. If you are using the toilet, you have to...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
