Me and the wife thought we would treat ourselves to the best room this hotel could offer. We have never been to Paris and thought we would make a true romantic night of it. The view is the only good thing about this hotel. The pictures on booking.com and the main site are lies. We found, Damp, mold, wall paper...

Dear Client, We are sorry you experienced a bad experience but in order to see what happened it will be nice to have your name to check the room you were in. Best regards

Loved the fact that so much of what we wanted to see was walkable from here. Staff is very friendly. Great location and reasonable price. Rooms are small - we are from the US but we generally expected that coming to Paris. Had a great experience and would come again.

The hotel had a lovely view and that was all. It was a 3 star dive with no air conditioning – I had no idea it would be so hot in Paris. But I had a fan. I lived on water in ice buckets from the bar downstairs. I stupidly left the window open the first night and found my...

I must preface this review by saying I do not speak French. This was important because it was my first trip to beautiful Paris, and I was anxious that I would not be able to communicate. The staff at Hotel du Quai-Voltaire could not have been more accommodating, not only with my lack of French, but also everything else. The...

I have stayed at the Quai-Voltaire numerous times over the past 15-20 years and it never disappoints. While it is not the most "chic" place in town, it does have the best views and always will. It's hard to beat looking out your window and seeing the Seine, the bouquinistes, and the Louvre. It is also walkable to nearly every...

The Quai Voltaire Hotel is situated on the Left Bank opposite the Tuillerie Gardens and near the Musee D'Orsay. It serves it's purpose as a resting place for tired visitors. Beds are comfortable and the room a decent size. But it could all be enhanced by a refurbishment programme. There is good WiFi and the reception staff are friendly and...

I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The location and the views cannot be beat. The staff were unbelievably welcoming and helpful. They really go out of their way for you. The rooms were far better than I expected. I usually stay in much pricier hotels, but since I knew I would have no time to spend in my...

I stayed here at the end of Oct. with my two daughters. We stayed in a triple room which was much bigger than I expected (I had stayed elsewhere in Paris once before and could barely walk around the bed). We had three twin beds, spaced far apart plus a table that we could comfortably sit at and look out...

A 6 minute walk from the Orsay Rer C station - easy to get to from the airport if you use the trains. Our room was ready when we arrived shortly after 11am. It was on the fifth floor, The hall could have used a reno, but the room was bigger than I expected, clean and functional. Best of all...

No it's not an international grand hotel. It is very typically French. Yes the lift is tiny but the staircase is beautiful. Rooms not large but OK.!Breakfast is simple but the bread & croissant were fresh and the juice had recently been inside oranges. Great position for local restaurants - try those in the Rue de Bac - and for...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
