The Hotel des Grands Hommes was everything that we had hoped for. It was very easy to find the hotel as it is only 5 minutes walk from Luxembourg RER station which is a very easy and convenient train ride from CDG airport. The hotel is also a very easy walk from Cardinal Lemoine metro station. Our superior room on...

A wonderful experience. Brilliantly located to allow us to soak in the ambiance of Paris. Small room but with a sense of elegance. Very helpful staff especially Matthieu the manager. Would thoroughly recommend the experience. Jim Belfast

We stayed on the upper floor with a direct view of the Pantheon. The service was excellent. The rooms are smaller than other boutique sytle hotels that we have stayed in previous years. A quiet, intimate hotel that was just a few blocks from the heart of the Latin Quarter. Even though we are very close to a metro stop...

From booking on the Grands Hommes website (at a discount for early reservation), right through to our departure, everything worked perfectly. Our superior room on the second floor had a small balcony which overlooked the Pantheon, giving a wonderful view and the facility to enjoy watching the street life below. The room was quite small, but beautifully decorated in traditional...

This was an amazing little hotel. Trip Advisor's ranking for this hotel did not let us down. Excellent service and the room was clean and beautiful. The room was smallish, but the furniture was arranged in such a way that it maximized storage space. We had a view of the Pantheon out of our window. Incredible! We will come back...

We booked a long weekend at H des G H after seeing loads of great recommendations on Trip Advisor. The hotel was pretty perfect for what we wanted: great location, within walking distance to the Marais area plus right next to Luxembourg Gardens and some fab cafes and a few bars. The room itself was pretty small but not unbearably...

The Hotel des Grands Hommes provides a truely excellent experience. The rooms are of a high standard although small - typical of Paris - the bathroom was well appointed and relatively large. The location is only a short walk from the heart of the Latin Quarter - the place to be in Paris. The staff were also helpful. I would...

We spent three nights at the Hotel des Grandes Hommes (we were to spend 7 originally) and were slightly disappointed with the hotel. Although it was at a great location the room left a fair bit to be desired. The reception on the TV was very poor and although we were promised that it would be fixed immediately it was...

Dear madam, I'm very sad to read this comment and to see that you were upset. I must admit that I remember perfectly well to have spoken to you about the TV : As we told you, we did check the problem on the very day & called the company as the reception was not clear. Concerning the wifi access,...

Stayed for three days. The room was well appointed, the bathroom spacious. Our view was directly onto the Square and the Pantheon, well worth it. Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful, particularly the night staff on our last stay who rectified a discrepency with the bill. In fact my fifteen year old son remarked that that staff member had made...

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights - late December 2007, our first visit to Paris. Booking through the hotel's internet site is recommended for the best rate. From our experience we have awarded the Hotel des Grands Hommes the 3 C's for being charming, clean and comfortable, all that a traveller needs. Our arrival at...

Dear guest, Thanks a lot for this very detailed comment about positive & negative points. Be assured that we will concentrate all our efforts on what is the base of our job : the service. You will certainly have read that most of our guests felt different about our staff but I'm pretty sure that the fact to read your...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
