The service at the Hotel Delavigne was wonderful. They were so helpful in pointing out day trips, restaurants. Great staff. The hotel is located in the St. Germain area...very close to many of the sites within walking distance. Metro is also very close for use. A double room is quite small but a room with two twin beds provided a...

With a strategic position in the Latin quarters, this little hotel offers what you need. In a calm street, near the jardins de Luxembourg and in between several metro/RER/bus-stops. A good place to explore the city on your own, or by using one of the recommended guided tours that stops by at the hotel.

Stayed for 5 nights either side of Bastille Day and was very happy with the value. St Germain (6th) was a lucky hoiuce for us as it was within walking distance of so much that we wanted to see. Great cafes, bistrots etc. The rooms are small, but these are old buildings which are difficult to renovate and we left...

The Hotel Delavigne is well located near the Odeon Metro in the St. Germain area of Paris. I've stayed here at least 5 times now, and the only negative is the room size, a bit smallish, but of minor concern to me. The rooms are clean and otherwise comfortable. The street noise is low - no trash truck picking up...

My wife, 9 year old daughter and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel Delavigne (Jan 2010). The hotel is down a quiet side street close within walking distance (20 min) of many attractions along the Seine. The rooms are clean and functional. The Staff are good. Breakfast is 10 Euro. The restaurant opposite (forgotten...

My 5-year old son and I stayed at Hotel Delavigne for 5 days. The hotel was clean enough -- not immaculate -- and the location is excellent, on a quiet street, in b/w Jdns de Luxe and Odeon. It is not particularly interesting and some of the rooms smelled like smoke. If you make a reservation, be sure to get...

I stayed in the hotel delavigne for a few nights, having stayed there before a few years ago. I was staying in the hotel by myself, since my travelling companions had already booked another hotel. The location is excellent- very centrally located in the Latin quarter, 5 minutes from the Odeon metro station, I felt comfortable about returning to my...

A great place to stay if you want to stay in an upmarket area, at affordable prices, with 5 star service. The lift starts at the ground floor - essential if you have loads of baggage. Hassan, at the front desk speaks perfect English and knows Paris well. He is friendly and professional - his helpful manner with all our...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
