Great location for sightseeing and shopping.Warm welcome at Reception in a beautiful old building with a stained glass domed ceiling in Bar-Tastefully decorated for Christmas. Our 3rd floor room was overlooking the Boulivard. The doubleglazed windows kept out all traffic noise and the beds were very comfortable.Breakfast was just lovely-freshly baked breads, glorious selection of fresh fruits, hot choices,Continental, yogurts etc etc.Staff were always...

Luckily this hotel has very good staff and this is what makes the experience ok. The staff are welcoming, helpful and very polite. Unfortunately, the hotel itself needs a major refresh if they want to attract customers. It was probably once a lovely venue - it sure has all the makings of it. But it is dated and showing signs...

Good location, spacious room and wifi, but that's all! Nothing else works, no heating in the bathroom even after i reported it twice to the reception desk, noisy aircon, you can hear your neighbors quite good even when they just walk above you... luckily they didn't engage in midnight activities, water problems. If it was 70/night it would have been...

The welcome was; Credit Card and Passport when arriving to the front desk. Not exactly a warm welcome. But the staff is probably also tired of the fact that nothing really works. The elevator, the TV, the toilet and basically everything out-of-order. The hair-dryer fixed next to the office-desk instead of in front of a mirror, etc. etc. The breakfast...

Great location, in the Opera district, 5 minutes from the Lafayette Galleria for great shopping and 25 minute walks to Monmatre and Le Louvre. The rooms were more than adequate, the bed and bedding very comfortable and the bath was classic with a separate toilet closet. However, as another author wrote, "everything is a bit tired and worn, particularly in...

Good location, decent enough rooms but everything is a bit tired and worn, particularly in the staircase. A nice old building with two ancient Parisian elevators, one of which was out of use when I was there. If you get a good deal on a room take it but do not expect to be enchanted. There is a small bar...

My company booked this hotel as it was within walking distance of a meeting I had at the Galeries Lafayette. Of course I'd rather stay at the George V or the Bristol, but the pictures they showed looked somewhat decent and it WAS convenient! So I arrived in the evening from Ch de Gaulle and the night staff was, of...

We were there 4 nights, 3 were weekdays where one non working elevator could have been repaired, but wasn't....hotel was full so going up or down was a long frustrating wait. Dear onesweetgem, Many thanks for sharing your honest feedback on TripAdvisor. I am sorry to learn that what could otherwise have been an enjoyable experience has been marred by technical issues. This is a beautiful hotel, so it's really sad that the overall offering doesn't match the architecture. I have known and stayed here on and off for nearly 20 years but, frustrated at the decline, stopped doing so a couple of years ago. Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
