I bring groups to Paris every January and we always stay at the Paris Rivoli. The staff is very helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast quite adequate. The location is ideal: on the edge of the Marais and within easy walking distance of Notre Dame. The Metro station (St. Paul) is just a block away....

I have just returned from a 03 night stay at the Hotel Paris Rivoli to celebrate both Valentine's Day and our anniversary. Not having been to Paris for over 30 years I spent a lot of time researching and settled on booking this via Hotels.com. Well, the location is excellent on Rue De Rivoli easy walking distance from St Paul...

A completely average hotel, but our visit was marred by asking the receptionist to order a taxi for us from the hotel to the airport at the end of our stay. Instead of calling the taxi central, he called a buddy or relative of his, who happened to be a taxi driver. Telling us that the taxi was 10 minutes...

As soon as you walk out the door of the hotel you are straight into a slice of Paris. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the rooms are basic, slightly dated but comfortable and functional and a decent sized bathroom. We stayed in winter and the room was warm, the beds small but comfortable, and the room dark when...

I searched many hotels online and glad I chose this one. The rate was much lower than other hotels, and the reviews were good, so I took and chance and it paid off. The location couldn't have been better. The street is a main street in a popular area, so we were just steps from restaurants, bakeries, and shops. The...

I stayed at the hotel Paris Rivoli from the 20th through the 27 November 2010 and occupied room 602 at the daily cost of 111 Euros, bleakfast included. It was my 16th visit to that beautiful city (yes, I am passionate about Paris) and despite having passed by the hotel´s door many times on previous occasions I had never really...

This hotel is located between two metro station, both 5 minutes walk. Being in the Marais district, its full of bars, restaurants, bakeries and retail stores. The hotel doesnt have many rooms which ensures a peaceful stay. They do offer an in house breakfast in their enclosed street facing dining room, however with the multitude of cafes we ate out...

This 3 star hotel is in a pretty good location, about a 10 min walk to Notre Dame and 15 mins from the Louvre. Other sights are easily accesible by Paris' inexpensive and efficient public transport network. Our room was a reasonable size, and clean enough. It was also pretty quiet, so sleep wasn't a problem. If you're a big...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
