Found the staff excellent. We were fortunate to have a room with a large window overlooking the street. The room was small, as are the majority of Parisian hotels, but had a fridge which was great to chill the wine. Close to Metro, great restaurants, supermarkets and patisseries, especially the one on Avenue de L' Republic. Would recommend this hotel.

The very idea of giving this hotel a 3-star rating puts the entire rating system in jeopardy. I have stayed in many hotels in various places around the world and this one rates near the bottom of the pile. Beds: about the same size as a roll-away cot. Floor area: Approximately 15 inches of free space on either side of...

This hotel is very clean, comfortable, and just few steps from the Metro, restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies. The staffs are really professional and helpful. The bathrooms are modern. The beds are comfy. The breakfasts are good. Actually, Verlain is better than many 4-stars hotels. Now it is one of our favorite hotels.

Most hotels which are reasonably priced in Paris will be small, espeically the room size etc. So you have to accept that.. The location of Verlain hotel (not to be confused with Hotel Verlain which is a different property) is convenient, just across from subway station. The staff are good and all in all its a nice cozy property one...

I have stayed in Paris many many times and this is by far the best Hotel I have stayed at. All hotels (within a reasonable price range) are going to be small. So get over this straight away. This was was compact, but absolutely fine. There is a wardrobe which contained the safe and plenty of room for hanging clothes....

Verlain Hotel is a modestly priced hotel, very comfortable, clean and welcoming. Its proximity to the Metro makes it accessible to and from anywhere in Paris. Close by are excellent groceries, boulangeries, restaurants. The room was perfectly adequate, exceptionally clean and the bed comfortable. The room had a fridge and kettle with daily coffee and tea provided. Highly recommended for...

For a three star hotel, I found the rooms and the bathroom on the small side, clean but barely room enough to turn around in. The wifi works only sporadically in the room but there is a computer room on the ground floor. The breakfast, however, was good and the staff helpful and pleasant.

Verlain is in a good location with many patisseries, bars, cafes and restaurants nearby. There are also a couple of small supermarkets including a Carrefors Express and a laundromat and the Menilmontant metro station a short walk away. There is a bit of street noise on Friday and Saturday nights but not too bad, it is quiet on other nights....
