We spent several nights at Hotel Bersolys toward the end of Sept. and early October and found it endearing and charming. The staff and owner were very helpful (thank you Jean Claude and Madame Sylvia). We appreciated the proximity to excellent locations and were even able to do laundry nearby. Although the room was quite small, it was manageable for...

The Bersoly - Saint Germain is a great little place, somewhat hidden on the Rue de Lille. I loved it because it had old europe written all over it. Small in width and depth, you enter a very well appointed lobby area. Rooms on the levels above have everything one could need, including charming small (almost child-sized) chairs that are...

We enjoyed our stay at the Bersolys Hotel. The location was very good for the places we wanted to see. The personnel of the hotel were most helpful with directions to locations we wished to visit. We would like to commend Ken and Jean-Claude(the desk clerks) for their helpfulness. Regarding how I booked our stay; I'm not completely sure it...

My teenage daughter and I stayed at Hotel Bersoly's for 3 wonderful nights in July and we highly recommend it. I selected the hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, despite one bad review regarding the owner. Contrary to that review, I experienced her to be very kind, cordial and helpful. Jean Claude, who greeted us warmly when we arrived, was...

Excellent central location of the hotel in a quiet neighborhood, rooms are rather small but very nice and clean, staff very friendly. With all its history, decorations, small staircase and elevator the hotel gives you that cozy feeling as you were visiting a relative in Paris. Room was very well-kept, the staff was doing the cleaning around our schedule. Hotel's...

Let me preface this by stating that my sister kept immaculate records of correspondence by the travel agent. We arrived in the morning after a two-tiered all day/night flight from the United States. We, purposefully, paid for two rooms the day before arriving so that we could rest upon the very early arrival. Our total stay was three days (2...

We stayed at Bersolys for a week starting May 5, 2008. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small but had everything. Airconditioning, full length french windows overlooking rue de Lille. Lots of dresser and closet space. The bath was small but was attractive with tub & shower & hairdryer but no wash cloth(pack your own). There...

This is a small hotel, efficiently run and good value for money. It is well located for many Parisian attractions.

We booked at the Hotel Bersolys in spite of the very mixed reviews on tripadvisor primarily because the hotel was located in the precise location that one of the people we traveled with wanted to stay. Regarding the location, it was far better than anticipated. Although not in any of the areas specifically recommended by the travel books (the rue...

My family and I (four of us) began staying at Bersoly's since 2001 while visiting Paris. We were interested in a place that was close to major sights such as the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, and easy walking distance for other sights without requiring the metro. Bersoly's met all these requirements and we found the owner and the front...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
