Select hotel Riva Gauche has great location next to the metro and popular attractions. Excellent service. Breakfast was simple but it was delicious pastries. I will choose Select Hotel for my next trip

I spent three nights here with my partner over the Easter weekend. The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was comfortable and clean (although the open plan shower was a surprise). Everything you could want to see is within around a 45 minute walk. Only reason for one star off is that the breakfast was rather basic.

What a lovely little hotel! I made a great choice. I haven't given it 5 'stars' simply because my room request wasn't fulfilled. I was offered the opportunity to move the next day but it was a short trip and not worth the hassle in my mind. Pros: - Nice decor in the room and the general areas - High...

This was our fourth stay at the Select, and we consider it our "home" in Paris. As we usually walk a great deal we enjoy the location close to the Luxembourg Gardens and to the Seine at Notre Dame, to the St. Germain quarter and all that the Latin Quarter has to offer. Our top-floor room (65) on the corner...

Well put together a hotel. Perfect location. The staff go out of their way to be professional. I had left my wallet in Thailand and they made it very convenient with the credit card company. What could've been a problem because of the Goodnature of the staff.

Stayed in a junior executive suite, was a wonderful stay. Great location, great service, very spacious and modern room which we appreciated at the end of long days of sightseeing in Paris. Fantastic space for a family of 3. Only negative was that we could hear a lot of street noise at night, but this is not uncommon for anywhere...

What a great hotel! A lovely welcome from friendly and multi-lingual reception staff. The room has so much character, exposed wood beams and stonework and yet contemporary. Also a good size for Paris. Breakfast was lovely, a good choice of typical continental pastries and also cooked options. The location is ideal if you like to be central but away from...

The hotel is very clean, and the staff was very helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent, and although there are several bars and restaurants nearby, the room was generally quiet (although ours was facing in to a courtyard and there was a bit of noise from some people on a Friday night, but I'm not complaining). The breakfast...

Stayed two nights and had a wonderful experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful....they provided us with a room upon an early arrival. Room itself was describe as 'small/cosy' but we found it plenty big and very comfortable, quiet, modern but with character. Good continental Breakfast was included in a very reasonable rate. Near metro and easy commute from airport....

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
