I read the first several reviews, looked at the pictures and thought this should be a charming hotel in Montmarte. WRONG. First it is not in Montmarte but a very seedy area of Paris , according to cab driver. Sandwiched between 2 cheap souvenir shops...More
This has a doorway you could almost miss form the street and it is pretty much behind the Moulin Rouge, but what a pleasant surprise.
This was an emergency trip and so I wanted a 5 star hotel on a budget. La Squara is 4...More
Recently stayed at this little hotel. It is stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean. We had a deluxe bedroom facing the 'courtyard' which was perfectly quiet in the evening. The room was small - great for just a few days. The breakfast was alright - but...More
If you want five star treatment for four-star prices you must visit Hotel le Squara. Elegance is the word that comes to mind. The hotel and rooms are decorated very elegantly, with the owner/operator Manuela Squara being the epitome of elegance and hospitality. The attention...More
The hotel is perfectly located in a nice neighborhood with close nearby typically local restaurants where the French local people go. A night out in this part of town is recommended.

Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy
features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

We only stayed two nights and our room was adequate for our needs but we would have struggled had we had more luggage as there was only a tiny half length wardrobe, no drawers at all. The bottom part of the wardrobe space was filled with a fridge which of course is useful for a weeks stay.
I would certainly ask for an upgrade, I believe the upper rooms were more spacious.
I must say that all the staff there were very nice and very helpful indeed and I'm sure they will assist you wherever possible.
Enjoy Paris, we loved the location and quirkiness of the hotel.
