Luckily I was only staying one night on business arriving late with a relatively unhelpful desk manager, I was given my key, second floor, front corner, and it was noisy, the room was cold and the window didn't close properly ! This must have been the smallest bathroom I have ever had to use with a 12 inch step up...

I think its the worst hotel i've ever stayed in. Rooms are very small, very old and maintenance is bad and even the bed, there were two beds that were put together for me and my husband, people at the reception are not that welcoming they are ok but not a normal hosting hotel, and the elevator can not take...

We found this hotel via some page with special deals - 45€ for a double room per night. I couldn't imagine paying the full price though, the room was insanely small, kinda dark and humid. On the other hand - we needed this room just to sleep somewhere, so if you are going to spend 18 hours exploring the city,...

This by far is the most disgusting hotel I have ever encountered and I had very low expectations. The area is not safe with multiple brothels and strip clubs and the room was laughably gross. There were so many stains on the carpet, so much mold and bugs in the bathroom, and the door to the room does not open...

This isn't the poshest hotel. It is worn down and in a serious need of refurbishment. However it is in a very convenient location - near to 2 metro stations and 30 min walk from Opera Garnier. It is in good location to explore Montmartre. Room I stayed in was a small room that had a double bed and enough...

The size of the rooms is ridiculous, even for Paris standards. In our double room one person needed to sit on the bed for the other person to pass for the bath room in which it was literally impossible to move. The window in the bathroom was broken, the carpet was disgusting, the WIFI ridiculously slow and the housekeeping sloppy....

No, it's not 5 star but I didn't pay 5 star prices. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Yes, if you have a room with a view expect some noise....it's Paris....lively, buzzing and lots to do....I've never been on a city break yet where the hotel provides complete silence. The reception staff were very helpful and polite and I happened...

Wow, this place is so bad. The hotel itself is ok which is sad as it is opposite a really bad dive bar where they put crappy furniture on the street and make noise until at least 2am every night. You can't avoid it. If you like drinking stay here because you too can join the fun in the street,...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.

“Bring a kettle if you want tea! (I'm sure this isn't news to people who are well traveled around Europe though). Also bring a reading lamp/light as there was no top light in our room, only the bedside lamps. Finally, hang your towels on the hangers in the wardrobe to dry as there's very little room in the bathroom to hang them off to dry sufficiently overnight (plus, the wardrobe was near the heating, so they dried pretty quickly). ”
