If you're ever wondering where the safest place is to stay in this luscious large city, Los Patios Du Marais is definitely it. The room we had was beautiful, the gardens were amazing and the best part was a peaceful night sleep despite the active nightlife Paris has. The staff were super helpful and showed us right up to our room and showed us the facilities the place had to offer. We both felt confident that we were staying in a safe place which, as first time travellers to Paris, was essential for us. There is a metro station down the road which was handy as well as Notre Dame practically being on our doorstep too! We are definitely going to stay here again when we come back to Paris.

First let me tell you the bad as this place is not for everyone. If you can't deal with stairs this place won't work for you. If you're a big person you won't fit in the shower. If you're expecting hotel services you won't find that. No one makes the bed, etc. I wanted accommodation with Paris charm, which les patios does have. Rooms are tiny, which is the norm. There is a kitchenette which is great. No ac and heat is a portable unit. Our October visit required neither so OK for us. TV is strictly French, no CNN but who cares, you're in Paris! My main issue were safety related. There is a charming walk thru but at night only half the lights would come on. Same for all those stairs I mentioned. Lights are on timer and would go out leaving you entirely in the dark or not come on at all. Have your cellphone flash light app or you're in trouble. I mentioned this several times to the front desk but they're young and inexperienced at dealing with service issues. More interested in their phones than solving your (really their) problem. Great area, close to metro, cafes, night life etc. Would return one day perhaps if they could get their act together.

The apartment are located on top floors. Be prepared to climb the stairs with your luggage. The rooms are really small and not worth the price. If you have to book a room. Be careful. I got a room on the 6th floor.

Most any apartment or hotel room in Paris is going to be super small, so you need to figure that into your expectations. We had the apartment they call Peaceful. 2 adults and 3 teens. We gave them the "bedroom" upstairs which had 1 full bed and 1 twin. These stairs are not designed for a large person. The sleeper sofa downstairs is large and was fairly comfortable - if we slept with our head at the end by the wall and tv. We loved the setting, the little patio areas in the interior courtyard are nice. The area is a good area and close to metro stops and easy walking to Notre Dame and The Louvre. I would stay here again. The kitchen could use a few more things to make it handier to cook such as a pasta strainer and a small cutting board. Most things are there though, just look around, a lot of things are stored on the walls. It is a very small kitchen but it is doable. The staff was nice to us. The sofa was a little stained up but that really didn't bother us too much.

Booked on booking dot com based on location in the Marais and details in listing. the listing shows nice clean rooms, some with patio garden access but the one we got is at the back looking out on a noisy street. it’s small but most in Paris will be small although this one is smaller than you might think. bath and kitchenette are ok, bed is good, windows are double glazed which keeps out noise but then you get no breeze. short walk to cafés and restaurants, plenty of shops. about 20-30 minute walk to Rive Droite opposite Ile St. Louis. quick response from Uber and cheaper than taxis. metro stop at Arts et Metiers is closed for maybe long time. overall we might stay here but only if we could require ground floor room with patio access or 1st floor front with windows. price of rear rooms is not equal to value given.
