My wife and I stayed here last week and we're made to feel very welcome by all the staff. Our room was ready for us when we arrived, although it was earlier than the advised check-in time and our room, although not large by any standards, was clean and had everything we needed. We were only up in time for...

First off, the most important things: Clean rooms, clean beds, decent bathrooms (with good water pressure). So the things that you really need are indeed all there. The details aren't perfect however. Carpets are a bit worn, and the corridors feel small. But nothing to cause real problems. In terms of the breakfast. The area is very small and the...

I stayed at Arcadie Montparnasse with my fiancé from 16th to 19th August 2013. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very polite and helpful. The rooms are small but nicely furnished and cleaned every day. The bathroom was quite small and we had to bend down to fit under the shower but that would be the only...

Very convenient location with lots of amenities around. Right across the road from Gare Montparnesse and metro station right outside. Comfortable bed. Rooms are on the small side and in need of updating.

Stayed in the Arcadie for 4 nights during the hot weather. The room was very small (as most are in this part of Paris) with only a fan to circulate the air. This hotel needs serious attention and rests on the quaint reputation. Wardrobe doors hanging off and no shower curtain in the bathroom, so to avoid a flood one...

If you're exploring this hotel, you're not looking for memorable Paris pied-à-terre. This is an inexpensive, everything-is-fine place to stay within spitting distance of Gare Montparnasse, and therefore great if you're heading out the next morning on the TGV, or have just come in on it. The rooms are fine, clean, though not particularly spacious. Wifi works. I'm sure breakfast...

Lovely welcome at reception. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location for Gare Montparnasse, Metro and wandering. Lots of lovely restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk. Rooms are compact, nicely decorated and clean which was all we wanted for an overnight stay. We would struggle if we were there for two or three nights due to space but...

This is a small hotel ten minutes’ walk from Gare Montparnasse and right next to the Gaîté metro station. It’s in an area with plenty of choice of restaurants and bars – and, if you don’t mind having to take the metro to get anywhere quickly (it’s a good 30 minute walk to the Ile de la Cité), you could...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
