We spent 10 nights at the Henri IV Rive Gauche in late June. We were on the 4th flour facing St. Severin. Even though it is a fairly busy street during rush hour, it was incredibly quiet. They are not kidding about their triple pain windows! The room was lovely with every amenity. It was small, but well appointed. We...

What a great hotel! Our review might be redundant, but it truly is a gem. We spent a week here on our honeymoon and it was the perfect place to get to know Paris for the first time. The location is unbelievable, with the Notre Dame, Ile. St. Louis, St. Germain des Pres, and the Latin Quarter so close by....

We stayed for several nights in May 2006 at Hotel Henri IV Rive Gauche. We found that all the wonderful things Trip Advisor says about this hotel were true - mostly. We ddi not need air conditioning during the time we stayed and the elevator worked. When we got there we found out they did not have the type of...

We had two rooms, one with a lovely view and laid out very well, the other with a view of an ugly courtyard, cramped and no air conditioning. The price was the same for both. When we complained about the lack of air conditioning, the receptionist said "oh yes, we know that room and we have another one with the...

We stayed here for 7 nights last week. Hot weather in Paris and the hotel was like an oasis. Small and charming hotel and very centrally located. Agree with all the good ravings of this place from service with a smile, to the clean and charming decorations, to the location in the middle of Paris within walking distance to all...

We loved the convenience to Notre Dame, the river bus, the Metro, St. Germain, the Latin Quarter and the islands. The hotel was actually lovlier and nicer than I had imagined. Our view of the Eiffel Tower and St. Severin was fantastic. We were on the top floor. The bathroom was very modern and clean - in fact the entire...

Without being redundant, all the positive reviews of this hotel, I am in agreement with. We were in a room in the back of the hotel which was large, but the view was rather deadly. I asked and we were kindly moved, luggage and all, to room 401. The only room with a balcony. It wasn't huge, but the view...

We knew we'd barely be in our hotel so location was the most important thing. It's in a perfect spot for a first visit to Paris as so many of the tourist sights are in walking distance. But it's a great base for getting around if you want to get off the tourist trail too and in an ideal spot...

We loved every minute of our three day stay here. It's a lovely hotel in the heart of the left bank, a stone's throw from Notre Dame. Greetings from the staff were warm and sincere. Fears of those rude French disappeared. We had room 301. Upon entering, my wife told me I couldn't have found a better hotel. Thank you...

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
