We ended a 6 week road trip of over 4K km thru Europe here. Rooms large (for Paris), well appointed, very comfortable bed with all the comforts apart from coffee maker. Common areas quiet, warmly decorated with a beautiful outdoor garden area where you can enjoy a drink. Service is excellent, professional and prompt. Loved the neighborhood for dining and...

Beautiful appointments, decor, hospitality...but rooms are very small. We have been traveling for 3 weeks and our bulging suitcases suck up the space! Very lovely parlour for playing cards or enjoying tea or an apertif. Would defintely return.

My boyfriend and I were in Paris to celebrate his birthday and came across the Recamier when we wanted to be central to the Louvre and the Parthenon. We got a lovely room overlooking the atrium so it was nice and quiet. The separate room for the toilet was convenient. The staff was so nice to invite us back for...

Quiet, conveniently located to most spots a traveler would be visiting. We love to walk, so even walking to Arc D'Triumphe and Eiffle was easy. The hotel was lovely, and just 24 rooms. Beautifully appointed, but in typical European fashion quite small. Patrick in the breakfast area was a delight. Staff was helpful, with the exception of one woman who...

Overall: a lovely boutique hotel experience in a quiet area of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, close to all of the restaurants and action, close walking distance to the Luxembourg Gardens, Pantheon, Notre Dame, and Musee d'Orsay. Very stylish, luxe vibe. Location: The hotel is in a little nook on Place St Sulpice (try to see if you can get one of the rooms...

I am so grateful that a colleague recommended this hotel for my stay in Paris. We absolutely loved our time there! The rooms are clean and though they are small, very functional and well appointed. The location, on a quiet corner of a Place St. Sulpice was the perfect refuge after our busy days touring Paris. Plus, we were only...

In a shady corner of Place St Sulpice, on a narrow street with almost traffic, sits the Hotel Recamier. Stylish, spacious rooms with views of the church and square - at least in the highest of three categories - good management, excellent location, this is now our hotel in Paris.

Charming, quiet small hotel with an interesting history/decor of Madame Recamier. Stayed here for a week. Fairly small room, but this is Paris. Breakfast is served (additional cost) in a very elegant small room on main floor and if one asks the right way, anything can be ordered, including scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Walking distance to Louvre, Musee d'Orsey...

This hotel was one of four that we stayed at during our trip to France for our honeymoon. Overall this hotel was pretty good. The location in Place Saint Sulpice was beautiful and central enough to allow you to walk in all directions and if that wasn't enough there were 3 metro stops within 500m. It was quiet, hidden just off the main square with no road noise, a blessing in a city hotel. The hotel offered drinks...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Discreetly nestled behind the trees on Place Saint Sulpice in the heart of Saint Germain des Prés area, Hotel Récamier is about to become a new exclusive address in Paris. The hotel should meet the expectations of travellers in search of confidential addresses such as those exchanged between well travelled and demanding friends.Half of the 24 rooms have a direct view on the place. The rooms have been superbly revamped by the renowned interior designer Jean Louis Deniot who was inspired to create 24 entirely different rooms with one theme per floor. On a classical basis he has added some eclecticism inspired by the various 20th century decorative styles. You will find neither hyper exuberance nor minimalism: here we are talking real Parisian elegance. ... more   less
