Trying to find very cheap accommodation in Paris, 1 minute from a Metro, close to a major attraction and very clean/modernised is rare, but we found that with Le Regent.

I was tracing with my 2 boys (7&8) and a friend, so was tracking down a quadruple room. Le Regent appeared to have some good recent reviews and didn’t see the words “bed bugs” anywhere, which seemed a common theme with most cheap digs.

Hotel is easy to find and right besides Anvers Metro, No.2 line and at the base of the hill to the Sacre Couer. Staff were young and attentive and very friendly by Paris standards! Our room was on the 6th floor, accessibly by small lift (max 3 persons) or wide staircase. Once in the room, Wow!! A view to die for. While the balcony only fits one person, it’s was t a problem for us. The beds were firm, clean and room big enough for just sleeping and relaxing, we’re their for exploring Paris, not staying in the room. OK W/C and shower room, no issue with hot water and good pressure.

I would have no hesitation in going back, it’s a hidden gem!

Only negatives I could find, and it’s minor. Yes, my feet did stick out from end if bed, but at 6’3” it’s something I’m very use to and still got a great night sleep. Fronting a main road, we heard 2-3 sirens during the night, but very little from the public so the double glazing did it’s job. Finally, as mentioned, expect a small lift, but it’s very common in Paris, just enjoy its quirky quality!

Thanks guys, had an amazing stay!

It's clean and the reception guys are really friendly, the breakfast is really basic, you will get some Baguette and Croissants with some jam and butter for 6 euro. There is a Metro and Bus station right in front. If you have a room with windows right to the street it might be a bit loud. All in all it's a pretty good hostel where you can spend your trip to Paris.

This place is simple and stylish with nice touches such as a kettle in the room, especially for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful and there’s a nice vibe to the place. I stayed in a double superior room, which was not overly large but perfect for a few days. The location is great, it’s on a busy boulevard but just go a block north or south and you’re in laidback Paris neighbourhoods. It’s right by the metro and only 10 mins from Gare du Nord, which is a bonus (especially during the rail strike). I’ll definitely stay here again.

Quiet and clean rooms with very nice staff. I was easily able to switch from a dorm to a solo room with private bathroom and toilet (my mistake during the booking process) on the day I arrived. I only paid the price difference and the staff responded kindly to my request.

We stayed for 3 nights in Le Regent Montmartre. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The lady who manages the breakfast is also very kind. Breakfast is cheaper if you book directly on Le Regent Montmartre website. Only downside was that they advertise pain au chocolat for the breakfast (in their website photos), but they are not included, only croissants. There is a kitchen to use a kettle or microwave and you can eat your own food in the kitchen or common area. The hotel itself is very nice, recently renovated and cosy. There is a lift or stairs to use to get to the rooms. We had a double standard room with a view of the street, even though there was no balcony it was very nice to have a Parisian view!! The room was very lovely, there was everything we needed. The only problem was the bathroom was not 100% clean, quite a few long black hairs all over the bathroom and little bit dirty. Overall, the stay was fantastic, you cannot beat this location (Sacre Coeur and Montmartre literally on the doorstep, Anvers metro station 1 step away, amazing coffee shops nearby and easy to walk from Gare L'est or take the metro). Reception is also open 24hr! I will stay here again, I can't wait.

GOOD
The hotel is in the perfect location in Montmartre: 8mins walk to the Sacré-Cœur, 20mins metro to the Louvre, and 35mins to the Eiffel Tower. Price was good and the property is secure.

BAD
We couldn't use the cooking facilities "because of Covid". I doubt that this is the law and was frustrating as there's no obvious notice on the website. I specifically choose properties so that I can prepare my own meals, so when the 'kitchen' cannot be used to make a meal, it's very annoying. The staff are quite miserable, and every request seems to be a problem and complicated for them. However, they did speak very good English and the service was quick. The beds are ok, however, they creak a lot

Absolutely perfect- beyond perfect! I cried when we left. We’ve been to Paris a few times and stayed in the area, and love it, but this was our first time with kids. We had ‘The Room’ that is used on the photos and it really really is like that. That view!

The place had a great vibe, with staff and other guests being warm and welcoming. We loved the shared fridge and kitchen- perfect for our kids who will only eat cereal for breakfast! The location is perfect. Right next to a lovely play area for kids, Anvers metro station is outside and the Sunday street market that filled then boulevard was great!

The room was lovely- very nicely decorated and the kids loved the bunbeds. Loved sitting on our little balcony and enjoying that view.

I can’t even write how perfect our stay was. I’ve never seen Paris look so beautiful and we can’t wait to return.

The staff were very helpful & extremely pleasant. The position is truly excellant, close to metro stations & a short walk to Gare du Nord. A vast range of bars & restaurents are just outside.
The room itself is very basic given that we paid the eurostar agent £200 per night. However the biggest single issue is the noise from other residents. It is an old building with no air con which means when its warm which it has been the past four nights you must keep the windows open. Last night I tried calling out at 2330 to whoever with loud voices to quieten down, to little effect. The night before whoever was above was bouncing on the floor until after midnight. The night before that the noise went on until 0100/0200 am .
We are now returning home utterly exhausted.

When we arrived the staff were instantly so so lovely and chatty. Check in was smooth and we were given free breakfast tokens which i didn’t expect but was brilliant. We got free breakfast for our entire stay. We went up to the room and it was a bit disappointing. It was the strangest hostel room I had ever stayed in. There were 6 beds all split up by walls. My partner and me were put in different rooms. There were no plugs for each bed they were just dotted around the room. To get to the toilet in the room you had to walk through by someone’s bed. The beds were creaky and very loud. Very strange room. The location was good as it was right next to the metro and close to the train station. The kitchen was good and had a seating area right outside it! There was also a laundry room but we didn’t use it so i’m not sure how it was. Overall, if they changed some things about their rooms then I would recommend to other travellers.

The rooms are clean and have plenty of places to store luggage. It’s a very bare bones place, perfectly good for sleeping, but not somewhere you would want to hang out. I booked a 4 person female dorm for my friend and I and during the course of our 4 night stay the hostel assigned 2 different men to our room. Both times we had to argue with the men and tell them they couldn’t sleep in our room. The second man was assigned to the room after it already had four people in it (it was full) and we had to go down to the front desk to get him reassigned. We were very frustrated by this because we had paid extra for the room to be female only, which the staff almost immediately disregarded. Aside from that, our experience was fine, but the hostel itself seems to be poorly run and I would not recommend.
