Picardy hotel was ok for me. It’s near to gate du nord railway station. I have not faced any problem during stay. Staff was nice. Cleanliness was maintained. It was my first trip to Paris and really was the memorable one

The worst hotel experience in my life, and I had been in pretty scary places before. I had to change rooms 3 times, to no avail: all of them had bedbugs. They don't wash or change the sheets properly (in one room, the sheets still had hairs of previous guests), I slept on top of the covers, fully dressed. Other supposedly "good room" had dirty sheets and still rieked of the previous owner's pungent perfume. Hygiene is not existent. Everything is old, dirty and downtrodden. Wall paper full of blood splatters of bedbugs. The lady that hands over the meager breakfast handles the cold, stone-hard croissants and cheesea with bare, dirty hands that were busy with dirty dishes a second ago. Forget about being compensated or refunded, all you get are "I know, I am sorry". Staying someplace else was not affordable and I am regretting the day I chose this place. Never, ever, stay here. Sleeping on the floor in the station would have been more hygienic.

The best and worst thing about this hotel is its location bang in front of Gare du Nord - that makes it easy to find and get public transport/the Eurostar, but also means it is very noisy. Gare du Nord like many major railway stations attracts a lot of the city's flotsam and jetsam and at night sadly you'll hear the shouting. Other reviews mention bed bugs. I was on the 6th floor and didn't see any, but could well imagine that they could be there. Rooms are small: the shower and bathroom are separate and the shower cubicle is small and narrow - which might present a problem if you're physically large. There is a long narrow winding staircase which was cluttered with bedding and vacuum cleaners every time I used it. The elevator only has capacity for one person and was out of order on the morning I left. Breakfast was basic - the breakfast room is quite small so there isn't room for more than 8 people at once. The place will never be short of custom due to its convenient location, but you can and will do better than this in Paris.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed myself and family needed a bed for the night as we missed our train and needed quick access to get to the station to London. Booked 2 rooms and they both had a foul smell. Dirty beyond description. There was used condoms in the bathroom. The sink in the bathroom was leaking in both rooms. There was dirty laundry all over the hallways of the lobby. Bed sheets were filthy. I actually asked to have cleaning material to clean the room and was told by the receptionist there was only tissues to clean. Overall this should not be called a hotel and it was so vile we all did not sleep worried about the hygiene of this place. Environmental health should visit this place as it is a hazard to health. I would rather have slept in the station and wish we had read the reviews. There is no lifting in the hall ways unless you switch them on after bumping into walls. There’s probably more that I could explain but overall I wouldn’t give this place any stars at all.

This place was really quite something. The outside of the hotel is strewn with litter and the reception is full of junk. The rooms themselves are very worn, paint peeling off the walls and carpets have seen cleaner and better days. In the bathroom the ceiling was made of metal slats, with huge gaps between them and I hate to think what was up there, besides all the wires I could see. The cold water tap didn’t work and the bathroom door barely shut. The curtains were too small to cover the windows and although we had specifically asked for a double bed, we were given two singles (the least of the problems!). Outside our bedroom there was some sort of vacuum cleaner just dumped at the door, which was a real tripping hazard especially considering the hallway lights were not automatic. Not to mention the woman in charge of cleaning/the breakfast room was INCREDIBLY rude. Speaking of breakfast... the room is too small to fit more than 6 people comfortably at a time and the food is NOT worth the €11 extra you pay. A couple of croissants, a coffee machine and juice which is only occasionally filled up? Nah. Find somewhere else. Would never stay here again.
