This hotel is awful. The shower is not big enough for an adult. There were ants in the bathroom over several days. The safe doesn’t even fit a mini laptop. The ‘carpet’ has a weird plastic texture. And they have weird keys that they make you hand in when you go out and you have to ask when you back.
Great tidy room, easy access to the metro train system, great little courtyard to sit and do not much..... the only downfall is the room does not have air conditioning, we were give a fan to provide some minor relief from the extreme heat.
This hotel has really tiny and basic rooms with only a small desk and closet. The rooms has no AC or fan, which is really bad at nights becauase it feels so hot! Bathroom is small and clean but looks so old and needs more ventilation. The key to enter the room is a kind of old steel key and when you leave you must let your room key with th staff at hotel reception. Staff is not very friendly.
We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Very clean, modern and practical. The bathroom was also nice but we couldn't close the shower door properly so there was water on the floor if we weren't careful. The walls were pretty thin so if there was any noise next door we would hear everything but since we're heavy sleeper there wasn't any problem. The location is nice - metro, supermarket, bus stop, and many small shops nearby but the street was very loud due to some construction so if we opened the window we could hear everything and since there was no air conditioning this could be a problem for hotter weather. Friendly staff, good English skills. No big problem on our side.
This was my third hotel on my visit to paris, but to my absolute astonishment, the difference between 4 star hotels & 3 star hotels is huge. So they dont even have to mis-advertise, they just have to “not tell” you the missing parts. Here is a complete checkilist of what is available and what isnt:- 3 stars flashing outside the hotel gate-Y Cloak room - N (instead they put your luggage in their lobby. Maps n brochures for tourists - Y Lift- Y(but apparently not in a working condition- wasnt even repaired in 3 days) Staff - courteous and helpful but unethical (as i paid the local tax in cash to the front office lady, but she “forgot” to mention the same in the cash register or their software) Centralised heating/cooling - N (only an old radiator/heater) Bathroom- small n smelly with inadequate toileteries such as shampoos dental kita etc unless you ask for more daily. Hot water kettle- N( and the front desk will tell you that with a boast) Almirah/closet- Y(or apparently an excuse for one as its not even one with a wooden or steel door, just curtains) But dont you dare mention any of these to the staff, as in their opinion, you are getting what you paid for and nothing was misadvertised. So may be it would be better if you plan in advance and pay an odd 60-80 euros for a 4 star instead of a three star. Because you never know. May be three star hotels are nt as closely monitored as four star ones in paris. All in all- an absolute disappointment( with happy faces - which probably made bearing all of this a little easier- so the two stars instead of one) …
