We had a nice stay at Hotel Emile. You get what you pay for and, yes, the room and bathroom are tiny but the rooms are clean and the location is excellent. We had a bit of an issue with our bathroom & shower in that the drain was not working and the water spilled out onto the carpet, we...

boutique hotel. The hotel's location in a quiet side street in central. Quite close to Bastille, there are two metro stations nearby. The hotel has only breakfast the other morning .. French. There is a lift but only on the 2nd floor so there is the problem of accessibility to those it was important. The rooms are small, which has...

We spent 3 nights at the Emile hotel in Paris for our 25 wedding anniversary. We wanted to stay in the Marais neighborhood within walking distance to many attractions. The hotel rooms are small compared to American rooms which we were prepared for. I would say the room was 1/3 the size of an American room. The shower and sink...

All then buildings in Paris have been squished to fit the most into them and I commend hotel Emile on what they were able to do in such a small space. The elevator was very small (could only fit one person at a time with their luggage) and you had to go up a few steps to even get to...

Hotel Emile is a stylish hotel in a great location -- in the midst of the Marais -- with an abundance of restaurants, shops and culture within a walk. The hotel has lots of pluses and a few minuses. Among the pluses are its location -- in the midst of everything but still reasonably quiet. Design is contemporary. Staff is...

This hotel is in a fabulous location - but is a little quirky. Instead of a reception desk, there was a little cubby where a man was working on paperwork. I was taken aback, but check in was smooth and easy. There are about six steps up to a landing which contains the smallest elevator imaginable, and then the steps...

Spent a weekend (Fri-Mon) here and loved the location! Just a 2 minute walk from Place Sainte-Cathrine, which is a nice little square with several bistros. Within walking distance to most sights and excellent shopping! Rooms are very small, but comfy and clean. Breakfast was included - very simple bud good. Strong coffee, orange juice, croissants and baguette with butter,...

This hotel is a wonderful location in the city very close to the metro and a good neighborhood to walk around but also just outside of the traditional tourist areas. Lots of cafes and shops just downstairs. The top floor room had a great view of the rooftops and Notre Dame. The front desk staff was really friendly and patient...

I booked the Superior Deluxe double room and they gave me a room that is two categories below the Superior Deluxe double room. After I carried all my luggage upstairs in the tiny elevator, I went downstairs again and asked the receptionist if there might be a mistake. He wasn't very happy about me pointing this failure out but left...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
