Recently stayed here for 5 nights and its in walking distance about less than 5 minutes from the Jourdain Metro. You can take the Jourdain to Chatlet in about a 10 Minute train ride. From Chatlet you are basically in the centre of Paris. Again, this is a 1 star, so don't expect anything fancy or luxurious. Very small bathroom...

Basically, the stay was acceptable. The reception worked very well and was helpfull and friendly, which I rate high. We stayed on 2nd floor which was ok despite that I was carrying heavy luggage. However, when arriving in a rental car parking and unloading the luggage was a mess. There ought to be a 10 min. drop-space in front of...

Pros: Excellent value Comfy bed Nice hot shower Clean Free wi-fi Cons: A little bit out of the way (but not too bad and metro nearby) Lack of air con (particularly in summer) No lift (we were on floor 5 of 6, would not advise for elderly guests) No frills (hair dryer, iron, tea/coffee etc) but you get what you...

Myself and my Boyfriend stayed here Oct 2011, and it was a wonderful experience. It was out of the citycentre, and in an area that we would never normally have visited - and that was possibly the best part of this hotel. It meant that we saw a non-touristy part of Paris, and it was lovely. The rooms were small,...

I stayed here for one night while visiting family who live just down the road from the hotel. All I needed was a clean room and bed to sleep in, I got no more and no less. My room was on the second floor, advertised as a double but the bed would be very tight if there were two people...

We spent 2 nights in this hotel. The double room is of a good size, with a double wardrobe and quite a lot of space on the floor, that we could place an inflatable bed for our child to sleep on. The bathroom was quite clean (could have been a bit better) but ridiculously small...in order to be able to...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in October 2010. We thought the room was fine if you are looking for super basic accommodations to drop your stuff and see the city. I couldn't tell if the staff were a little indifferent/rude or if they just didn't have that much English. All in all, it was fine. It wasn't really a...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.

“We were on 1st floor, with only one flight of stairs. Narrow staircase and six floors without lift, so the unfit with heavy luggage would have problems. We asked for adjoining rooms, so noise from neighbours not a problem (two rooms per floor?). Street noise not a problem.”
