Nestled in a prime, peaceful location, the Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal earns rave reviews for its luxurious amenities and elegant atmosphere. Guests have called out the hotel's attentive service, praising staff members for their professionalism and willingness to enhance the stay.
While the rooms are noted for their comfort and style, some travelers mention they may feel small to those accustomed to American-sized accommodations. Despite the high price point, many find the experience worth the cost, citing the hotel's meticulous cleanliness and its proximity to top attractions as key contributors to a memorable stay.

We had such a great stay at this hotel. The staff, especially the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was small but had everything we needed with a lovely balcony. Would highly recommend. In perfect location to visit all the big sites.

Perfect in every way. We loved our room, which was much larger than expected. Our junior suite with balcony had a separate toilet/cloakroom and a bathroom with shower cubicle and bath - and facilities such as coffee maker, water, safe, luxury toiletries and AC. Thrilled with the handwritten note for our anniversary and champagne. The location was ideal for walking to many sites, restaurants, parks etc. Breakfast buffet had lots to choose from including fresh fruit and pastries. My husband enjoyed the omelettes. The icing on the cake were the warm and friendly staff, who made us feel safe and well looked after. They were all polite, attentive and approachable and made us feel part of the GH family. Special mentions to the outstanding Christopher and Lilian, who were so passionate about the concierge role and keen to accommodate. They both struck a perfect balanced of professionalism, charm and humour. They were kind enough to give us the time to not only ask our many questions but practise our French. Both are incredible and Lilian, you are a superstar! Also, our thanks to Assunta and Zoe, both so kind and considerate. We absolutely loved it here and were sorry to leave.

Dear Lisa, Your review has finally been published on TripAdvisor! We've been eagerly awaiting it! Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. They truly touched us all, and we’re so grateful to know that your stay at the Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal exceeded your expectations. It means the world to us! I’m thrilled to read that your junior suite exceeded expectations! It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the spaciousness, the thoughtful amenities, and, of course, the balcony—what a lovely spot to take in Paris. It was an absolute pleasure for us to mark your anniversary with a handwritten note and champagne; being part of your celebration was truly special. Our location is something we’re so proud of, and I’m glad it allowed you to explore Paris with ease. And knowing that you enjoyed starting your day with our breakfast buffet—whether it was fresh fruit and pastries or omelettes for your husband—makes us so happy. It’s the little moments that matter most. What truly touched me was your recognition of our team. Christopher and Lilian will be over the moon to read how much of an impact they made on your stay. Their passion for what they do shines through in every interaction, and your praise for their professionalism, charm, and even humor captures their personalities perfectly. This is an excellent experience from start to finish. The rooms are small, but that’s the nature of hotels in European cities. The service is outstanding, from welcome drinks to the concierge making sure you never have any issues. I would highly recommend this hotel, and would love to stay here again. The location is excellent, blocks from the Louvre and the Seine. There are ample cafes and restaurants around. The hotel breakfast is also excellent. I couldn’t ask for more from a hotel. The rooms are also very quiet - I couldn’t hear anything from the street or neighboring rooms.

My husband and I went to Paris for the first time for our 1 year anniversary and stayed at Grand Hotel du Palais Royal. I am a very picky person (can be a burden sometimes lol) and I never right reviews, but this place deserves one. I can say with absolute confidence that I have zero complaints about this hotel. We had an amazing time. We loved the location, it felt nice and clean, close to the metro which made it easy to get around, literally across the street from the louvre but you weren’t flooded with the crowds that were there for tours at all, we also could walk to almost everything we wanted to see and there were a million great places to eat.
Our room itself was bigger than I expected, comfy beds and good size bathroom for europe, everything felt clean, and nothing was too noisy even with a cute cafe in the courtyard. It closes around 11pm too so that probably helped with no noise at night.
The hotel staff was sooo friendly and extremely helpful, they created us with champagne and a bottle of wine in our room for our anniversary. Anytime we asked for anything it was immediately taken care of. We ordered room service for breakfast once and it came really quickly and we were very impressed with the food as well. They also provided us with great dinner recommendations that ended up being the best restaurants we went to during our week there!
We couldn't have asked for a better first experience in Paris and this hotel played a large part in making it so wonderful. We are very happy with our stay and I was sad to leave- we will definitely be coming back and staying here!! I will be recommending this hotel to all of my family and friends.

A truly exceptional hotel on every level and we have travelled a lot. From the cold glass of champagne & hot towels on arrival to the stunning two bedroom suite which we were upgraded to on arrival. With two adults and two older teens this was a thoughtful and much appreciated gesture. The rooms were very stylish, the main en-suite was stunning and all the beds were extremely comfortable. The housekeeping team are very efficient and discreet. The bedtime chocolate is a delight! Farid was superb and Clara went “over and above” as the Concierge and arranged a brilliant, very last minute Louvre tour. All of the staff are friendly and client- focussed and it made you feel welcome & cared for. The team in the bar create beautiful cocktails and the breakfast service was great. There were lots of healthy options alongside delicious pastries. The location is perfect too and EIP fans will be delighted. This hotel is a Diamond in the SLH portfolio - the team should be applauded for their work & professionalism . For the best Parisian experience this is THE place to stay. We will definitely use this hotel again, possibly without the teens :-)

This hotel is beautiful, obscenely expensive (at least by our standards), has a wonderful location, and an incredible breakfast. The staff is incredibly polite and gracious. We decided to splurge to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
On entering our upgraded room was a lovely bottle of champagne (in a high hat) … and no wine glasses from which to drink it. There was a Nespresso machine, but no coffee cups, stirrers, creamers, or sweeteners in the room. Of course, we went downstairs to request these items since neither of us could figure out the house phone. All items were promptly delivered. Wine glasses only, the hotel told us they don’t have any flutes, even for the welcoming glass of champagne at check-in. (Perhaps they could buy some!!!!!) On entering our room on day 2, all of the items we’d procured (wine glasses, coffee cups, and spoons) had been removed, but not replaced, by housekeeping. So, once again, we went downstairs to request all the above items.
The breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelets were both heavenly. The slippers provided were soft and luxurious, but wouldn’t fit an American man’s foot: after two requests, a more realistic size slipper was found and delivered (but not by housekeeping).
Again, this hotel is beautiful and luxurious: housekeeping seems to be the weak link: perhaps we just caught them on a bad day.

Elegant facade and grand looking hotel right behind the Palais Royal and within stone’s throw from all the other major tourist sites such as the Louvre. Location is its greatest asset. The hotel lobby is small and it feels more like a luxury boutique hotel than an expansive grand hotel. The Superior room with one king bed and the bathroom are on the small-ish size and not quite grand but satisfactory if you’re a solo traveler — a bit tight and cozy for two people. The chocolate treats and personalized note upon arrival were a nice touch. Our room had complete amenities including Dyptique toiletries. The staff spoke English and were quite helpful and it seems like they try to personally attend to guests. Given the high price point, I expected more in terms of amenities, services, and space. But you’re really paying for the location and bragging right for staying in Place de Valois where many scenes from “Emily in Paris” take place such as the offices of fictional Savoir as well as the Bistrot Valois. Overall, a charming stay.

The hotel made us feel very special and because we booked through Virtuoso we were upgraded to a suite which was well appointed and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom had all of the amenities. The housekeeping was a little iffy (forgot to bring coffee and didn't fold clothes despite a tip) but that is a minor point. Breakfast was good and had everything we expected or wanted.
The location is very busy and filled with activity but the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal is on a quiet street so you're not really affected by the hustle and bustle. However, when we return to Paris we will probably stay in Saint Germain again which has more of a neighborhood feel rather than a tourist center.

This hotel was fantastic, it was in a wonderful location very near attractions (Louvre and Palais Royal), metro, plenty of cafes, grocery stores yet it was on a very quiet street and felt like you were in a quiet oasis in Paris. We stayed in a junior suite and it was lovely. We got daily breakfast included in our rate, and their selection was good and the eggs were always delicious. I celebrated my birthday while in Paris and even had a wonderful cake and balloons at the hotel and concierge made me feel special in that day. Everyone was friendly and spoke English. I would recommend this quiet peaceful hotel to anyone.

Loved this hotel. My husband and I stayed in the Junior Suite with Balcony for our week-long trip to Paris (visiting from the US). The hotel is beautiful and offers a five-star, boutique feel. The decor is high end and the smell throughout the common areas delightful. The staff were incredibly hospitable and welcoming, ready to help in any way we needed. We arrived early the day of our check-in and we were granted access to our room hours ahead of the 3PM guaranteed check-in time. We were welcomed with a lovely complimentary bottle of champagne and French chocolate. Housekeeping visited multiple times throughout the day, ensuring that our room stayed tidy. We included the breakfast buffet with our booking and looked forward to the delicious breakfast each morning. The bed and pillows were comfortable, not quite as comfortable as our bed at home, but good nonetheless.
The location was very convenient, walking distance to many attractions that we visited and otherwise close to metro and bus stops. We would absolutely stay here again.
