My first time in Le Placide. It has been a very good surprise. Small hotel with personal service. The rooms are big, comfortable, well decorated. The bathroom is also very big. Many amenities available. Also in the room wher you have a an iPod base, DVD player, flat Tv, excellent (and free) Wifi. The breakfast also very good, buffet like...

Like any romantic, I had high expectations for our trip to Paris ... and our room in Le Placide was all that we could have wanted! We had a top floor room with a balcony that overlooked a picture perfect winding, narrow street. It was a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. In a city famous...

This hotel was small, clean and incredibly well-located. The room, a junior suite, felt like a very good size with the glass bathroom wall. The bathroom still had privacy though as it was equipped with a heavy curtain that could be drawn. The staff was as helpful as could be. They made all of our meal reservations and were extremely...

In the heart of Saint German and few meters away from Bon Marche shopping heaven. Helpful and friendly stuff compared to other hotels in Paris. If you have been to Paris before, you may not be surprised with the price per square meter but if this is your first time, be ready not to expect a very large room given...

Dear Sir, dear Madam We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel. We are also very pleased to read your compliments; guest satisfaction is our main goal. It’s true that, as Paris is an old city, rooms are generally smaller than other cities; however the rooms at Le Placide are one of the most spacious...

The good - the hotel is a small (11 bedroom?) hotel squeezed into a tiny narrow old private house on a street in the Saint Germain area of Paris. The location is very good - the Louvre, Seine, Notre Dam etc are all a close walk (less than 2 miles), with the Eiffel Tower also only a little further away...

Dear Sir, dear Madam, After your stay at Le Placide Hotel, in July, you noted several comments, a lot of which praised our team and our hotel. We would like to thank you for taking the time to do so, as you obviously have put a lot of time and thoughts into your article, which reflects very clearly your knowledge...

It is a really cute boutique hotel with orginal and nice rooms, a lot of design surprises and a extremely friendly & supportive team taking care of reception and breakfast area, they deserve a 5. But unfortunately the manager is very unfriendly and booking comes with issues: it was the second time I booked, first time my room had apparently...

Dear Madam, We would like to thank you for your comments in Tripadvisor. We understand your dissatisfaction with our management regarding the inconveniences caused because of the technical problems… most unfortunately even the second time when you have decided to stay in our property. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment this may have caused. In order to maintain high standing...

We stayed at Le Placide in December 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is small (11 rooms I think?) yet stylish and is in a great location with Bon Marche (one of Paris’s biggest department stores) directly opposite, two Metro stations within a few minutes walk (Sevres Babylone & Vaneau) providing good access to the rest of the...

We stayed at Le Placide with our 5 children and it was a wonderful in everyway? My Husband and I had a suite and the children had the family suite option with the 5th child on a very comfortable roll out bed. The position is great and within walking distance to shops and many Paris sites. Our 16 year old...

Smart hotel in an excellent location in St Germain - booked through Mr & Mrs Smith as we had vouchers to use. We caught an evening Eurostar, so didn't arrive until after 10pm - not advisable, as the better rooms had obviously been taken. We had booked a Junior Suite (rather than an Executive Suite, which was €20 cheaper) but...

Management response:

We would like to thank you for choosing Le Placide Hôtel Paris. We would like to clarify that the allocation of the room is done several days before your arrival. We are not waiting for the last customers to give one room more than another one. Please be aware that the Duplex room is a Junior Suite. We are very...

This hotel is a wonderful little package. Rooms as beautifully equipped with everything you could need, are modern and extremely comfortable. I loved the French windows on both sides (one from bedroom on to the quiet street-scape and one from the bathroom on to the private hotel courtyard. The service is excellent, especially from Fabien - suggested some perfect run...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
