As so many others have done, we booked this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. We got the metro from Gare du Nord to Vavin, which is a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is lovely - luxurious without being pretentious and the air con was welcome in the heat we experienced! All of...

Travelled August 2010 for 2 nights. We stayed in one of the largest rooms but this was still very small, however being from London I didn't mind this too much. There is plenty of storage space for all your things. The welcome was friendly but I feel the receptionist was a little overworked, she was very tired and as she...

From when we turned up to a friendly lady behind reception, to the well appointed room, comfy beds, nice rain showers, little balcony and the incredible peace and quiet. We loved the place. Yeah rooms are a little small, but that is Paris. Couldn't recommend it more.

Loved every minute of our stay. The beautiful scent that first greets you arrival is absolutely glorious, (A scent that I can still smell when I think of Paris) followed by the warm greetings from staff and you have the first signals that this place will be special. The staff make you feel completely at home in Paris, even when...

Ha ha.. ok rooms are tiny, but it's Paris... great location, close to Metro, mile from La Sein, mile and half from Eiffel Tower... Service is excellent, concierge very helpful. Room rate reasonable for what you get... Close to cafes/brasseries. Would come back again...

My husband and I spent 3 nights in July at this hotel. I had booked it solely based on the overwhelmingly positive trip advisor reviews - the #2 hotel in Paris (!) and without doing any further research. After staying there I have to disagree with the high ranking and the high price. This is my 4th trip to Paris...

We thank you for sharing your experience in our hotel on Tripadvisor, but feel like we should answer some of your remarks: 1) Location : We are located at less than a 30 minutes walk from Luxembourg Garden, St Germain des Prés, St Sulpice, Louvre Museum, Orsay museum, Notre Dame. Also, we are located between 3 metro lines (lines 4,...

After reading the highly favourable reviews about this hotel on TripAdvisor, our expectations were high. And they were more than met on our stay of two nights. Fantastic service - all the staff were friendly and helpful and really made our stay a pleasure. Rooms are stylish and comfortable and atlhough air con works really well, it was even nicer...

I chose this hotel based on strong reviews in Tripadvisor and I was not disappointed. The service truly is excellent-- they are ALWAYS happy to help in any way. The decor is fun, the breakfast is good (tho cost was not included), th eair conditioning works! I like the location-- real Parisians live there. It feels so odd when we...

First, the hotel is clean, fashionable and in a great location---less than 100m to the #4 subway, from which you can get anywhere in Paris! The Luxembourg Gardens are a short walk, and they are beautiful! The staff is super! Their recommendations were 'spot on' for dinner, and morning coffee. The rooms are small....but this is Paris!!! We stayed for...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
