The hotel is clean and neat. Very quaint and in an peaceful subsection of Paris. Easy access to the metro and the bus. Several good restaurants in the area. Markets are close as well. Rooms are small - the norm for Europe. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast is available to buy. I would stay there again. Side note: hotel is...

Ever since walking through the Butte Aux Cailles neighborhood and spotting this hotel, we wanted to try staying there. Last December we did so, and we were not disappointed. This is a small, homey hotel with very pleasant rooms, but the main reason for writing this review is the wonderful hospitality we experienced. Rarely do you find such an accommodating...

For our purposes this room was just about right. We dropped off our luggage walked to lunch nearby, returned to freshen up and out again for a tour of Paris. When we came back we went to sleep. Woke the next morning and left. The shower was small but workable. No issues with the payment or security. The room was...

My story is that I was in a difficult transition, waiting to get a russian visa. I chose this hotel as it was close to the area I needed to conduct business. While the room was modest and simple, the hospitality of Elody the owner made all the difference. As I was in a meeting, she literally moved my 23...

My girlfriend and I stayed here in August. Wonderful hotel with great service. The hostess, who owned the hotel with her husband, helped us with laundry and postage and getting around Paris. With bakeries, cafes, and groceries nearby, it was an easy place to wake up to and come back to in the evening. It's a short enough walk to...

Clean and tidy little hotel. Great value for money. Close to Place d' Italie subway station, mini market, bakery and coffee shops. Staff very friendly, especially the owner of the establishment, which speaks English very well and is eager to help in any way. Only drawback, the not so good soundproofing. Would go there again.

Stayed here for a week. Fabulous service. I think ownership has changed since the posting in 2010 that said the service was "execrable". Staff was eager to help with everything in English or French. The room at the back of the hotel was very quiet and private. During the summer, there is no A/C but we opened our windows and...

We stayed in this hotel over a weekend for 2 nights as a couple. The hotel was in an ideal location minutes walk from Parmentier Metro Station. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants close by, this does create a bit of noise but this really didn’t bother us. The room itself was small but crisp, spotless and...

I decided to give 5 stars despite a few small-ish things because hotels in Paris are usually a nightmare (small, not necessarily clean, and usually overpriced) - so this is very, very good for Paris. The hotel appearance in the common areas and rooms is overall very nice, with some strange exceptions. The stairwell and hallway (at least on the...

Great hotel - clean and comfortable, and everything one needs is right around the corner (even a a laundromat). And I can't say enough about how accommodating and helpful the staff were - just awesome! Nothing ever seemed too much trouble.

Staying in Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique

Neighbourhood Profile
Place d'Italie / Quartier Asiatique
Far off the beaten path, this part of Paris is a forgotten gem worth exploring. Avenue d’Ivry houses Europe's largest Chinatown with great Asian supermarkets and shops, and a thrilling atmosphere around Chinese New Year. Place d’Italie impresses onlookers as soon as they set their eyes on it. Not far, around La Butte aux Cailles, the streets suddenly imitate provincial France and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported. The beauty of these streets lies in their surprises around every twist and turn.

“The first night was quiet (it was a Monday), but the second night it was very loud outside my room. I was on the first floor on the street side, and the bars seem to have an active nightlife on a Tuesday. Crowds were loud but worse was some very drunk people shouting very close to my window very, very late at night. Ask for a room not on the street side.”
