I shall start with the positives . Apartment is very close to Sacre Couer and about 10 minutes away from Gare du Nord. Bathroom nicely decorated and had a heated towel rail . Quiet apartment even though on a busy street. The downside was the ceiling in the kitchen area was flaking badly they had obviously had a leak at some point. The bedroom had holes in the wall and the blinds didn't work properly . No bedding was left for the sofa bed even though we had informed them that as we were sisters we wanted to sleep separately. Think the apartment is slightly overpriced and didn't have a way to contact owner. If the decoration problems were sorted then this would be a lot better

The good things first: the value for money is good for the area. The owner speaks English is you can't speak French. The shower was powerful and the bed was comfy. There is a kitchenette with utensils. Now the bad: the only bin for the whole place was a very small (bathroom sized) one. So if you use the kitchen, it's going to get full quickly. No spare bags provided so that you can empty it yourself. If you're a couple, one of you has to sleep under a very low part of the ceiling, and crawl out of the bottom. No wardrobe, just a shelf and some hooks - a pain for stays over a couple of days. The towels were clean but hadn't dried properly so they smelt awful. We stayed on the top floor which meant a struggle up the very narrow stairwell with a suitcase. The shower pole and curtain fell down about 6 times during our stay, soaking the bathroom. Little things like this add up and just make it not a worthwhile place to stay. Nowhere to put toiletries in the shower. And one final thing, we booked on booking.com which didn't include a 30 euro 'cleaning' fee, which simply cannot be justified. The crockery wasn't clean (we had breakfast in the apartment a couple of times) and I had to wash the plates and cutlery. She also didn't come in during that time to empty the bin etc so I have no idea what the cleaning fee is supposed to cover. An odd addition and one that you usually find on Air BnB. I suspect it is so that the overall cost appears lower on the page. Overall, really disappointing.

Room Tip: If you have heavy bags, get a lower floor. But the noise from outside will be loud.

First the positives: this is a budget air conditioned apartment near Montmartre, near the Metro and our apartment was spotlessly clean. There are only five apartments and Florence, our helpful English speaking manager, met us there on check in. We had apartment #2, up one flight of stairs facing the street, above the fried chicken place (not a problem in any way for us), with good light and big windows that opened up for fresh air. Hot water is plentiful and the shower head gave a great flow. The apartment had all very new fittings including a compact IKEA style kitchen. There's a free shared washer and dryer up one flight of stairs. It could be perfect if your budget is limited. The negatives? It's not really a hotel: no reception, no lounge, no bar. The air smells stale if the windows stay closed, but when open there was a lot of street noise. The bathroom sink was ultra slow to drain and made a smell without the plug pushed down. The hand held shower does not attach to the wall holder which is loose and comes apart if the shower head is attached. The steel front door to the building scrapes horribly on the tiles, very difficult to open when leaving because there is no inside handle. (However, lifting up on the lock and then pulling helps.) The neighborhood has some beautiful sights and streets, but this busy street has lower end retail and bars. The washer had a leak one day so we used a laundromat, and put our things in the apartment dryer... then discovered that someone had added a load of wet towels that had been used to mop up the water leaks!
