Only those in the know will experience the luxury of the Maison Souquet, hidden behind an understated facade signaled by two red lanterns. The bawdy, wanton legend of the City of Light was forged in the area around Montmartre, a legend of which the Maison Souquet now forms part. In a building that served as a pleasure house during the Belle Epoque, one of the most lavish and licentious pages in the history of Paris has been brought to life. Jacques Garcia has applied his talent to recreating the mystery, elegance, exoticism, sensuality, and ostentatious luxury of these establishments with their own architectural mores. Carried away from the city on the whimsy of the decor, the mind is free to pursue pleasure amid a fantasy setting conjured through artwork, sofas, causeuses, and divans. Perfectly at home, guests see their room open out onto a plush setting where life revolves around the ritual of tea-time, play, and rendezvous before and after dinner.

My wife and I were recently in Baden Baden Germany to see a Nick Cave concert and decided on an impromptu overnight trip to Paris given that Baden Baden is so sleepy. Having spent a week at the Maison Souquet during the Summer of 2018, there was little doubt where we'd stay. It did not disappoint the second time around, and they went waaay above and beyond, but more on that later.

Firstly, the decor: It's amazing! Everything is so opulent, but tasteful at the same time. It truly has the most beautiful interior design I have ever seen. Last year we stayed in a junior suite, and the extra space was nice for the longer trip, however, during last week's overnight trip we booked a standard room. The room was named "Rose" and they had spread fresh rose petals all over the bed. Also, the bathroom and closets are hidden behind these beautiful tapestry-covered doors. It's stunning. The lounge and bar areas are fantastic and the drinks are top notch.

But, the service: it's unparalleled. They tend to every need without being intrusive and are super helpful. We did a very dumb thing and left our passports in the room safe, and didn't realize it until we were on a train back to Germany. In a panic we called the front desk and Florian Depardieu, the Assistant Manager, not only rushed to FedEx to make sure and get the passports overnighted to us, but he paid out of pocket because my AmEx wasn't accepted at the FedEx location. (Don't worry, we paid him back). This is a level of customer service that you just do not get at hotels. It's a personal touch that the Maison Souquet offers that didn't just save our asses, but also ensured that we'll never stay at a different hotel in Paris again. And we plan to be there as often as possible now that we live in Europe!

So, thanks to Florian and the Maison Souquet. And to those potential guests reading this, please do yourself a favor and stay at this hotel, it's legitimately incredible!

Dear Mr Price, Thank you for taking the time to share your comment on Tripadvisor after your experience at Maison Souquet. We are deeply touched by your feeback. It is very important to us to make you feel at home. Your warm compliments have been shared with the team and especially with Florian who feels really proud! Our decoration, signed by Jacques Garcia, is the biggest part of our guests’ journey to the Belle Epoque, all is made to recreate the codes and the particular atmosphere of old houses of pleasure. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you in a near future in your new Parisian residence. Kind regards, Sylviane Sanz General Manager

Maison Souquet is a beautiful, boutique, establishment located just across from the Mouline Rouge, so super-convenient for accessing Paris both on foot and by metro.

Given the situation, I was amazed by how well the staff looked after us and made us forget there was even a pandemic. Everything we requested was taken care of quickly and with a smile. I'd highly recommend reserving the private spa for an hour during your stay.

A beautifully decorated hotel with an interesting history. This hotel is well located within Montmartre only steps away from cafe’s, restaurants, the Metro and Moulin Rouge. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms, although a little small and quite dark, are beautifully furnished and keep in excellent condition. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel daily, which was delicious and always served with a smile. A great perk of the hotel is the daily access to the Salon d’eau, a perfect place to unwind after a day of touring Paris. The only aspects that could use some attention, the double glazed windows cut out most noise, however; a small amount of noise still makes it in, so if you are a light sleeper this can be a problem. Also, the wifi is painfully slow and English options on the TV are limited to 2 news stations. These small issues are only that, small, and would not stop us from returning.

I booked a Junior Suite for me and my wife for 5 days for our honeymoon and this was beyond our expectations. Staff was attentive, and rooms were clean and allowed for ultimate pleasure. Rooms are large for european hotels, turndown service happens everytime you leave the room. Downstairs bar and cocktails were delicious. (Try the Smoked Salmon). This ambiance sets the mood for a stay in montamarte and I will definetly book a room here again.10/10.

They say “only those in the know will experience the luxury of Maison Souquet,” and they are absolutely correct. The hotel is both a serene oasis AND a chic cool bar and hangout. It becomes whatever you want it to be.

When the door of Maison Souquet opens you are immediately enveloped in the intoxicating aroma of their very own branded candles (we bought one to relive our stay).

After the quick and easy check-in, Pauline gave us a tour of the hotel and explained the origin of Maison Souquet and walked us through how each room was utilized during the Belle Époque. She guided us to our room and advised us how to reserve the Salon d’Eau, the private pool and steam room located below reception.

Whether we wanted to shop for baby clothes, book a last minute hair appointment or reserve a vintage car for a driving tour of the city, Pauline investigated every opportunity and left no stone unturned to fulfill our needs. She is truly exemplary and also very friendly- so much so that we looked forward to returning to the hotel to show her our newly acquired treasures and tell her of our adventures. Everyone who works at Maison Souquet epitomizes the highest caliber of customer service.

Our room, the Païva Suite, was so luxurious we found it difficult to leave and actually do some sightseeing.

The bar comes alive at night and I suggest sitting at the bar so you can see the masters of mixology at work.

We reserved the Salon d’Eau our final morning and I wish we had reserved it every day but then we might never have left the hotel.

Before our arrival the hotel arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport. I highly recommend booking a driver through Maison Souquet and requesting Monsieur Aissa Rouache. We adored him so much we booked him for our entire trip- even after departing Maison Souquet.

This boutique hotel will impress you so much with their sincere and genuine consideration of your wishes you will be determined to never stay at a large hotel ever again.

The hotel is very nicely decorated, clean and reasonably well located. Now, the room we got was incredibly small. Honestly, one of the smallest rooms I’ve stay in a long time (keep in mind we travel 4 months of the year every year, and this was our third time in Paris this year only). When the staff tells you “there is room for you suitcase under the bed” you know you are in a tight spot.
Beyond water, there was nothing useful in the room (no coffee, no wine opener, no nothing). Everyone was nice, but there was absolutely no additional service that I could been “excited or happy” about, no gym, no pool (other than the one you can book for one hour, hence not sure how it has 5 starts on the front).
Basically we payed quite a bit of money (430 euro was my reservation) to be in a nice historical tiny room. I can honestly say that in terms of cost-benefit this hotel had one of the worst ratios I’ve seen in a long time. I cannot recommend this hotel for the price and I am not planning to return.

We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. The location is already outstanding, just around the corner from a myriad of restaurants, bars and transport options. Once you cross the threshold you're transported to another time, where the velvet-cushioned furniture and the low lights bring the parisian spirit to bloom. The service and staff are outstanding, both during check-in and for amenities. The private hammam and pool provide a cocoon to be enjoyed in total calm, and the rooms are lavishly decorated. An extra note on the comfort of the mattress, bravo!

A lovely little hotel that, because of small size and furnishings, is cozy and intimate. It's past history makes it interesting too! The staff were very welcoming and attentive. We had a deluxe room (the 'Appolonie') for 3 nights that was on the small side but fine for us. This room faces over the rear courtyard and is perfect for anyone wanting peace and quiet.

The hotel is small and intimate, it is historically interesting. The staff is very nice and welcoming, It seems to be fairly newly renovated, the style is beautiful with lots of mirrors, paintings, red velvet. It is really "la belle époque". It is wonderful to be seated in one of the cosy salons, reading a book and just watching the decoration.
The spa is very beautiful.

I live in Paris, and a friend took me to Maison Souquet for cocktails one night a few months ago. I knew that evening that I would be back for a little romantic and sexy staycation with my wife. This weekend we celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary. So, I surprised my wife with a night at Maison Souquet. It was truly a magical experience. I booked the Paris romance package. When we arrived, the friendly staff took our bag, gave us a tour of the little hotel, and shared with us all of its interesting history. We were then taken to our room. The bed had been made with rose petals laid on top of the duvet, and there was a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy. After an afternoon of being together in the room, we ventured down to the sexy cocktail bar and had a few cocktails. The next day, after a beautiful night's sleep, we took full advantage of our private hour in their beautiful salon d'eau. It was just a perfect get away. I highly recommend it for lovers!

Hi, The bathroom is average size but only one sink. This shower was good size and very modern. I would think only one person in the bathroom works however.....which I prefer. Based upon my limited experience in Europe this room/ bathroom is pretty typical in size. Good luck and have fun!
