Center of the Cite, it does not get any better location than this. To get to the hotel, call ahead (from the outside), they will pick you up since the traffic is limited inside the Castle. Do not walk, the porter will come and get you, help you with parking and drive you to the hotel. Excellent Service!

One of the best hotels that I have stayed in. The location was beautiful, the hotel was sumptuous and the food sublime. The staff were great with our six year old son and went out of their way to please him.

First Impression: getting to the hotel is difficult as we were following the GPS directions and it was giving me directions to enter a walled city, which is not allowed for private cars. We had to ask for directions to a local. Once that it's figured out, you have to drive to a specific area within the first wall of...

We caught a taxi from the Railway station which took us to the barricaded entry to the old city where a lovely man took our bags and transported us up windy narrow roads to the Hotel. The hotel is operated as a McGallery by Sofitel and sits as one of their luxury range. We arrived to find that our room...

We were pleasantly surprised at the 'class' and quality of this hotel and it's staff. Location is perfect in the centre of the old city. High quality bedrooms with good space.Excellent other hotel facilities and dining. A shuttle van takes you to and from the hotel and the carparks just outside the old city walls.

It was 2001 that we last journeyed down from Roscoff for an overnight stay in Carcassonne and stayed at La Cite and unsurprisingly little has changed other than it is now almost impossible to drive up to the hotel and one now needs to park just outside of the walls from where very nice people help you with the parking...

Once we had found the welcome point outside the walls (after a helpful call to the hotel) everything was exactly as it should be. We were shown to the secure parking (in a picturesque if muddy old orchard) and then driven over the (dry) moat into the city, and then through the inner walls to the hotel. Check in was...

Fantastic location inside the old city, the drive to the hotel was a fun adventure! The hotel provides transportation into the old city or you can walk, it was the tiniest van I have ever seen. The service was great and the hotel, the grounds and rooms were really special.

Dear Guest, Thank you for posting your experience at Hôtel de la Cité regarding your recent stay with us. We are happy to hear that you found the drive a fun adventure and that you really appreciate the service of our team. The van is indeed really tiny because of the narrow gates of the medieval city. Thank you again...

Twice we have stayed in this hotel at the heart of living history. Once during winter while New Year lights were still decorating the city and once during late April. I could easily stay here for some months if it were possible. So many stories to enjoy. One of my favourite places in the hotel is to sit in the...

OK – I stayed here one night a long time ago – 2003. My 40th birthday. I still would like to mention it since it is such a special hotel with such a long history. The hotel was magic – even in February. France at that time of year is cold. However, the hotel is warm! The Middle Ages is...
