We arrived here in August, in very hot weather: what a pleasure to find the rooms well cooled and efficiently equipped. Our group ranged in age from 11 to 75, and we all received the attention we needed from our friendly hosts. At first we were dismayed that our rooms were at the top of the hotel with no elevator,...

Myself my husband and 2 friends stayed here on two nights, one at either end of a boating holiday on the Canal du Midi. The location was perfect, situated right between the medieval city and the new city, both were comfortable walking distance. The owners were really helpful with cabs, directions, printing boarding passes etc., Place was spotless with a...

The owners were wonderful - patient with my parking, helpful with dinner, and just nice people. They have a spot for your car (I think you need to reserve). The location is excellent - a short walk to the walled city. They have a terrace with post card views of the walled city. The AC worked well. And breakfast is...

This hotel is realy well located if you want to stay near the medieval part of Carcassonne. The proprieters are extremely helpful and friendly and there is a lovely shady garden to sit in which has a good view of the old city. The rooms are basic although have everything you need with good quality bedding - lovely crisp cotton...

Great location, very close to old city but away from the throngs of people, and with small bars and restaurants just a few steps away. The hotel is an historic building with nice clean rooms. The owners are very friendly and helpful (for example there is not a hair dryer in the room but reception ran one up to us...

I chose the Hotel du Pont Vieux for it's location - a short walk (uphill!) to La Cite but also a pleasant walk into the town. Arrived around 1130 in the morning and just wanted to drop my bags whilst I went exploring, but my room was available, so could have a quick freshen up on a hot day. Hotel...

It was pouring with rain when we arrived, and our hosts were quick to check us in AND park our car for us. They recommended several restaurants and were very welcoming. The room was very spacious with a HUGE bathroom and two double beds, plus a lovely big window with shutters and a pretty window box. The air conditioning was...

A lack of taxis at the train station and some misguided advice from a fellow traveller had us walking carrying our bags towards La Cite in the 30 plus degree heat. I stopped at the hotel and the owner very kindly contacted our hotel to send a small van to collect us and had us rest inside until it arrived....

We stayed for three nights and had a very enjoyable experience. It is shabby but clean. The sheets and bed linen are fresh and the towels were typically (for France) small but clean although also a bit worn. However, the friendly greeting from the owners and their "can do" attitude more than makes up for these points. Breakfast is enjoyable...
