The hotel itself is an early nineteenth century place, the rooms are a little shabby with curious mattresses and rather shabby chic furnishings. The staff are charming and what a wizard restaurant. It serves brilliant regional food - rabbit with cabbage, stuffed duck neck, ris de veau with morelles. Breakfasts are quite nice too, The rooms are quiet, and the...

Almost good enough for an Excellent rating! Obviously a family-run small hotel and resto, this establishment presents a taste of old classic French dining. We were there for dinner on a Saturday night, and there was only one empty table. The two servers hustled to provide prompt attention to all the diners. I think we were the only ones not...

We treated ourselves to a Weekend Découverte: a night’s stay with the chef’s choice of (five course) dinner menu, breakfast, and a personal guided tour of Cordes sur Ciel en français. The tour had plenty of interesting stuff that isn’t in the books. Dinner proved to be: gravadlax with a touch of rocket salad and balsamic dressing; sandre in a...

We have lived in Cordes for several years and have visited the restaurant at Hosteller du Parc on many occasions. Claude Izard, the chef patron, creates wonderful meals celebrating the diversity of regional dishes, for which he has received many awards. His passion is food and this shows with every meal he produces. Of particular delight are the occasional 'special'...

Wow it was great. A homely hotel, basic but immaculately clean. The food was delicious with friendly and helpful service. Bedrooms very comfortable, again basic but attractive and clean, with tea and coffee available. The area around is stunningly beautiful, ideal for walking. Would recommend visiting St Jean Pied de port.

Ok, the positive first : very friendly and helpful lady at reception. The location is also ideal, it's only a 10 mn walk to Cordes ( steep road up but you get straight into the heart of the city), there is a parking on site and it's free, there is a big garden and a pool. The breakfast was very...
