We sent five nights here when visiting family living nearby. We really enjoyed staying in the barge , Gladys was very welcoming and friendly . The chambers were very clean and comfortable . It was quiet and peaceful along the canal. We were within easy reach, 15mins walk of a large park , and 10 mins beyond that you are...

Unique - Special - Wonderful - What a perfect spot to be...walking distance to town, on the canal, with a comfy bed, and enjoying a terrific host and hostess who made the first days of our adventure in France simply terrific! We were welcomed warmly, and the food (a different pastry each morning, along with juice, bread, yogurt with strawberries...

What a great find Peniche Amboise is, for something a little different when you're staying in busy Toulouse. This converted barge is eclectic and welcoming to guests. The rooms are small but comfortable and the en suite was spotless. The communal lounge area was great fun. Breakfast included coffee, juice, flan, yoghurt, brioche and bread. The host was friendly and...

There is something beautiful I never saw before: the movements of the water of the Canal du midi reflecting on the ceiling at night through the round windows... Believe it or not: there is no need for more for a very romantic moment. But actually, they provide much, much more: apart from the basic services of any classy hotel (they...

Took my parents away for their 40th anniversary and wanted something a little different - Peniche Amboise was perfect. The owner is lovely, very attentive and the peniche is beautifully furnished. Breakfast is a treat with cake, pancake, yoghurt as well as bread, jam and hot drinks. There was sufficient parking right next to the boat so very easy to...
