Did not live up to its ratings. We were in the side building and the holiday staff couldn't answer easy questions like "is breakfast included and if not, what much does it cost". When I asked for coffee, she said "don't you have a machine in your room?" No. We did not. We didn't have any wifi as was promised...

The gardens of this hotel are beautiful. We even saw a coypu among the swans, ducks and geese. The reception staff are very helpful although when we mentioned that we were unable to turn off the radiator in our room and we were far too hot nothing was done. When the hotel was busy the WiFi in our attic room...

We stayed in the converted accommodation next to the hotel (room 23) at the end of March. The idea of the barn conversion is great but the overall feeling was that owners fell out of love with the hotel. In the downstairs toilet there was a hole on the wall, shower head did not stay in place, kept falling down....

While the setting is lovely just outside the downtown of Bayeux, this is absolutely not a 4 star hotel. The rooms in the main Chateau were tired and stuffy. Breakfast was extremely expensive for what you received and dinner was sub par.

We stayed here for a short break as a family and booked one of the duplex rooms which are situated in the new buildings next to the main hotel. The staff were fantastic - were very tolerant of my poor French and extremely welcoming to all of us. The food was great - even down to providing a different dish...

Located in town, but just outside of the downtown, you get the feeling that you're out in the country. Grounds look great. Chateau has great charm. Has updated bathroom with beautiful bathtub, although the shower portion is simply a hand held device that wasn't great. There wasn't a curtain, either, so it was a little weird. wifi was good, staff...

I only stayed one night before I headed out on my tour but very happy I chose this hotel. It was a great experience, very happy and friendly staff and beautiful grounds. I want to research more about the history of this property now.

The location is beautiful, I loved the ducks and swans in the stream next to the building. We were on the top floor and had great views out of our windows. Ultimately we had a comfortable stay and were reasonably near the historic sites in Bayeux. I wouldn't have been completely comfortable walking back to the hotel at night due...

Thanks to Brittany Ferries and their excellent special offers, we enjoyed a wonderful three nights at the Bellefontaine. Our room, 9, overlooked the pond, it was perfectly clean, nicely decorated, warm and the bed was very comfortable. We ate both breakfast and evening meals, all were nicely presented and delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and always attentive. We would...
