My family and I spent one night here and were made to feel very welcome. The food was fantastic and our room was very comfortable even though there were four of us in there. Everyone was very friendly and it was interesting to stay in a traditional hop drying building that you see dotted around the countryside.

The Playden Oasts Inn is on a country road with streetlights a 20 mins slow walk from Rye. Uphill but not very steep. Half hour walk from Train Station. A Taxi from the Station cost £5 if you have heavy suitcases. There is a Supermarket and a Toilet opposite the Train Station. Buses to the Inn appear to be few...

I checked in at reception and was firstly given all the information regarding opening times of the restaurant and bar with the food menu of the day and also what to expect over the weekend. Would recommend the hotel but not the restaurant. The bedroom was nice, nicely decorated, maybe a bit too pricey for what it is. We had brunch in Rye (at George, great place BTW), and wanted to have dinner at Playden Oast so that we could have some wine without having to drive. The decor in the pub/restaurant area is tacky,...

Wife, myself and 8 week old baby stopped in here by chance on the way back from Rye to Sussex. Great friendly welcome, choice of seats and we had two Roast Beefs which were good classic Sunday Roast grub. Price was reasonable, pint of bitter was also very good, so a nice treat. Just what you need on a sunday....

We stayed here for two nights as a birthday celebration, and treated ourselves to one of the roundel rooms - a big round bed in a big round room in a "tower" of the oast house. Certainly a bit different! This is a very friendly, welcoming little hotel where you are made to feel at home very quickly.. The food...

The Playden Oasts is just a wonderfully relaxing, welcoming inn.If you are looking for the bland big chain inns this is not for you. The decor is entirely fitting with the character of the place, it is warm and cosy. You get a lovely friendly welcome and nothing is too much. The bar and restaurant is comfy and is used...
