The Chateau Bouvet Ladubay is an impressive property, grand wouldn't be an understatement. We found the whole place slightly overwhelming initially, but sooner settled in to enjoying its splendour. Our ground floor room was enormous, with a bathroom bigger than many hotel rooms that we've stayed in. The owner is very welcoming, with a great sense of humour. He personally...

we were well looked after from arrival to departure. The room was well presented, clean and enormous! Breakfast was included in the price which was a nice bonus. The only down side was the building needs renovation, peeling paint and the poor orangery is really run down. That aside we had a great nights sleep in a comfortable bed and...

Even better than we thought from reading the reviews. The building is amazing, the host excellent, the room we had large and very comfortable with its own balcony and a vast amount of space.Bathroom the biggest I have ever seen I think. Breakfast great and the location is ideal as it is outside town but quieter because of that. We...

This place was quite pricey and in my view failed to justify the price. The room, although big, was very noisy and the bathroom lacked a usable shower facility. The owner was friendly and the breakfast was good but the location is a fair walk from the town (although ideal for the wine caves).

The perfect place to stay while touring the great Chateux of the Loire. More than worth the price. Lovingly furnished with period pieces; wonderful breakfasts; and a warm and welcoming host. This boutique hotel provided memories I will not soon forget.

Loved the ostentatiousness of this beautiful chateau, located in what now seems to be a housing estate. The stunning orangery or winter garden was a joy to behold and the interior of the chateau has been so sympathetically designed. Oodles of charm, antique furnishings and over the top decor all add to its individuality. The hallway is magnificent. We stayed...

No, it's not really semi-detached, but you're travelling along a perfectly ordinary suburban road leading out of town when suddenly - wham, a chateau. Try dropping into Google streetview and comparing houses on both sides of the road. The house is stunning, and the reception very warm. We had the Ambre Room, which looks out onto the grounds at the...

On first impressions we thought it looked a bit tied... But after just one night we fell in love with the place- the owner was lovely & very helpful, the rooms were absolutely stunning, with amazing views to wake up to! It's a short trip away from the centre.

At first we wondered if we made the right decision, because from the outside this small chateau looks a bit worn out. But what a nice place it turned out to be. Friendly host, very clean rooms and good beds, tasty breakfast, absolutely no worrying needed. The chateau is located in the quiet outskirts of Saumur. Going to the city...

The Bouvet Ladubay is a lovely B&B with fabulous rooms. Ours was spacious, clean and comfortable, with private access to the attached greenhouse. The bathroom was recently renovated and was almost as large as our room. Simply amazing. The owner, who speaks very good English, is friendly and lives on property, but you hardly know he's there -- which is...
