This is a lovely hotel, really easy to find on the banks of the Loire and the edge of Saumur town proper. Just underneath the chateau and within easy walking distance of the town centre. Has public carparks to the front and a secure (paid for) carpark at the side, which is very handy. Very nice reception people - we...

Our room (with reduced mobility - handrails in bathroom and walk in shower, but no seat) lead directly on to the lovely Courtyard, where one can sit out at one of the several tables, enjoying a drink or two - or you can breakfast here when it's not a cool morning!. The Hotel is in the 'shadow' of the magnificent...

The staff here are few in number but very friendly and efficient. The hotel has a restaurant in the grounds adjacent to the car park which was very good. Plenty of parking and the rooms comfortable but not flashy. I was let awake sadly by a rodent eating wood under the floor I think! - it's an old and quite...

Beautiful view of the castle, lovely old building with helpful staff, great courtyard for coffee or pre-dinner drinks. Easy access to the old town where the local market added to the colour. On the Loire and we hired bikes from nearby shop to join the cycle track along the Loire.

We stayed for one night at end of biking trip. First, Mary-Ann at front desk is fantastic. Extremely helpful, hardworking, friendly and assisted with an appointment for us. Many thanks to Mary-Ann for making our stay so enjoyable. While the location of the hotel provides nice views of the chateau it is not located in the main downtown area but...

We stayed here on our way to the south. as we did last year. Every decent french town has its stylish old world hotel and this is definitely Saumur's The setting between the Loire and the Chateau couldn't be better. The old town is an easy walk to restaurants cafes etc. Drinking sparkling Saumur a=in the courtyard is a real...

If you want modern and soulless try the big chains. If you want something historic and quirky that you'll remember long after then go here. The hotel has huge character, and I'd guess that each bedroom is probably unique - ours was very big and comfy. The staff were as helpful as you'd wish, spoke fluent English and were very...

Picture yourself in a very old chateau, enjoying every luxury and romantic affect of such a location. Now open your eyes and walk through the doors at Hotel Anne d'Anjou. With a great location, you are only minutes from town center and all that it has to offer. What a wonderful hotel.

All the staff spoke perfect English, made us very welcome & were very helpful. Beautiful room overlooking the Loire, good shower, soft towels and comfortable bed. Good but expensive breakfast, parking on the river bank outside the hotel. Saumur is a lovely town but the Chateaux has very little to see at present - will be spectacular when renovations are...
