The reception staff were formal but cold, which set a negative tone from when we arrived. This beautiful old building has great potential but the décor requires some refreshing – with its soulless room furnishings. Although well situated (just below the castle and overlooking the river) the hotel is on the main road (they do supply you with earplugs). The...

Dear Madam, We wish to answer your comments but we are unable ti figure out who you are and when you stayed with us so that we cannot check with our reception team whom to refer to ans understand what happened when you check-in. What a pity ! Usually our warm welcome is strongly underlined in our customer quotes. We...

My sister and I stayed for several nights at the Hotel Anne D'Anjou as a base for our exploration of the Loire Valley. This is a small hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff. It is not air conditioned, but few places are. It was a beautiful, historic, and very comfortable hotel. When we arrived early, the staff stored...

pleasant hotel with nice inner courtyard where you can have breakfast weather permitting. it difectly iverlooks the Loire so we had the most wonderful views out of our window. it has parking but you have to pay for it (12 euros per night) which we had booked in advance. This is good if you wish to be secure but there...

Bonjour, We thank you for your nice comments. The staircase, under a lavish original Trompe l'Oeil ceiling painting by a florentine's painter in 1774, is endowed an iron banister forged ; the wall paintings were designed by Percier & Fontaine, architects of the Emperor Napoleon the 1st.

Positioned facing the Loire, it is a good choice for couples and groups. Rooms are on three floors, those on the first floor overlooking the river are the best and are approached by a fabulous wide and curving staircase. Rooms on the top floor have skylight windows and lose the magnificent views. The rear south facing garden is great for...

We have stayed here many times and love it. It's a friendly, family run hotel wonderfully placed for the town with its many bars and restaurants. A room at the back will give you a great view of the chateau and you overlook the pretty courtyard where we like to eat breakfast and enjoy a drink before or after dinner....

If you want to tour the Loire Valley, this hotel, right on the banks of the river in the historic part of Saumur, is a great location. The restaurant is superb, and if you want to opt for something different, you are within walking distance of very nice shops, restaurants, and sights. Note that the hotel is NOT air conditioned,...

We stayed here 2 nights during our driving tour through the Loire Valley. Location is excellent, on the Loire and just beneath the Saumur Chateau. The room was fine; the towels could have been plusher though. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Very relaxing shaded garden courtyard in back for just sitting and having a drink perhaps. Small, easy to reach...

We were here for 3 nights in a very large dormer room. The best was having a view of the chateau from the room, especially at night when it was bathed in light. Within minutes you can walk to the chateau and tour it or walk to the colorful town and some great restaurants. The hotel itself has been restored...

We stayed here while touring France for 12 days. Our room was a large, clean attic room with timbered ceiling, and antique furniture. The 2 dormer windows graced us with a beautiful view of the castle or chateau all lighted up at night. We also had a fan in the room if needed. The commode was separate from the bathroom....
